With regards to how many episodes of Syndicated Sale's first year, it was Greg Brobeck (Snowpeck) who said that. In another thread, he said that it was Variety Magazine who reported that it would debut on January 7, 1985 with 20 weeks first-run, 16 weeks repeats. Matt O.'s episode was, of course, #S-095.

As for it supposedly being replaced by the Courtroom Drama The Judge in some markets, well, it make sense. Both shows were distributed by Genesis Entertainment, and The Judge premiered on September 15, 1986.

Likewise, Family Feud with Richard Dawson was Syndicated by Viacom on mostly NBC stations from September 1977 to September 1985, and was replaced on most of them by The Price is Right with Tom Kennedy, and a year later, was replaced on most of them by Card Sharks with Bill Rafferty. Mark Goodson wouldn't have anymore first-run Syndicated game shows until September 1988 with Family Feud with Ray Combs, which was also mostly on NBC affiliates. Syndicated TPIR and Syndicated CS were from The Television Program Source, and Syndicated FF was from LBS Communications (later All-American Television).

/The Judge and Sale were also on USA Network

As far as those deinterlaced video issues, I'm quite certain it's a GSN thing. Today's show was mostly affected----the speed round[? Don't remember anymore!] looked normal. Thankfully, no slowed-down audio this time!

Actually, the reason why I was off by two numbers in the episode numbering for GSN's rotation was because I mistakenly included November 12 and 13, 1988, which were a Saturday and Sunday respectively.  The episode numbers for GSN's airings on my Excel spreadsheet are now accurate.

Fascinating that $ale offered an RDI Halcyon in the shopping round. Wonder where that device is now...

Here's the latest progress report on the Syndicated edition episode guide:

I have all the episodes completely filled, except for all three of the skipped episodes (no clue if USA Network ever showed them), three of Alice Conkwright's episodes, and the two episodes following her run. After I get done seeing the contestant's names on #S-068, I will post the list of all the Syndicated episodes in this current lease.

Hopefully filled full of bullets, which would be quite justified from anyone who played "Thayer's Quest".

Today's Sale had an interesting instance during the 2nd instant bargain. Rather than show it off at the same area as the Fame Game, it was instead shown off in front of the contestant podiums. I'm guessing they couldn't think of an elaborate way to show it off.

Since I'm not in the scene or trying to fill up my episode collection punch card, that guide would be much more interesting to me if it had footnotes like if the champion retired by buying something, what he was going for when dispatched, or whatever nifty thing happened that day.

When Skip's run came to an end what was he playing for?

I had no idea that the nighttime version had champion incumbency to that degree. Now that's a useful statistic.

Also, not that it really matters, but going by a brief bit of Googling, I'm pretty sure that it's Helaine Lowy not Lowery.

I know GSN's had the episodes closed-captioned-------that may help in confirming the spelling.

.....Then again, I noticed the captions spelled Alice's last name as Conkrite. Take that as you like.
