March 23, 1950 marked the first time it was America's time to Beat the Clock! But it seems that GSN will make us BtC fans wear black come April.....

23 years later on March 23, 1973, NBC rings the curtain down on the original Concentration; thus the beginning of the end of the "glory days" for the Peacock Network's game show line-up.

Cordially,
Tammy Warner--the 'Susan Ruttan of the Big Board!'
In Loving Memory: Dolores "Roxanne" Rosedale (1929-2024), Peter Marshall (1926-2024), & Chuck Woolery (1941-2024)

It's also the 25th anniversary of the start of the first of two $50000 tournaments on The $50,000 Pyramid.

Today marked the 56th anniversary of the debut of Beat The Clock originally was a 45 minute show but in 1951, Sylvania picked up the show and turned into a 30 minute show, but no episodes before August 2, 1952 has never made it to reruns but Bud Collyer was the original Numer One Clockwatcher but was subsituted by John Reed King, Frank Wayne, Win Elliott and such because of his summer vacation, the show was on CBS from 1950 to 1958 and was on ABC from 1958-61, Bud hosted the show for almost 11 years; the show revived in 1969 with Jack Narz as a new host and when he left in 1972, Gene Wood took over the hosting duties and remained until 1974; it revived again in 1979 with Monty Hall as host and went back to being seen on CBS stations but it only stayed on until 1980
Today also marked the anniversary of Joe Trela became the third contestant to win $1,000,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and was the second-youngest contestant to win $1,000,000 on a TV Game Show.

This autistic guy is also offended.  [mutes Iris]  That's the last time I buy mute buttons from Reali.  They last only 10 seconds. :-)
