Matt, I'll host "Eye Guess," and you can host "Three on a Match." :)

This is exactly what GSN should be doing.  I wish them great success.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
But heck, somebody's noticed that there are some fun Stewart formats that they own now.  Who knows what the possibilities could be?  A couple more of these get greenlit, I may have to throw my hat in the ring to host one of them.

EXACTLY what I'm thinking.

Now if they could go into the Barry & Enright library, revive Tic Tac Dough retro-style, and bring back the Winkster as the host.  Hehe!

With Deal or No Deal, Game Show Marathon, I've Got A Secret, and now THIS, it seems like justice is being served for us.  We're getting another SERIOUS genre revival here.  :)

If GSN would revive CR, I wonder what the chances are for the original to return to the schedule? Would be nice to see it again..

I'd be willing to bet that if the new one's a hit you just might see it again!

I agree, although it was stupid taping that show in Canada, the Edwards version had a better format although with lower payoffs. I hope this version has bigger payoffs. I had plans for a new version a Chain Recation myself. I can't tell you what they are but I hope they use them.

It was not stupid for USA and the production company, cheaper to produce in Canada than the US, no? Many of us on this board have a soft spot for the Canadian produced shows seen in the US in the 70s-80s, despite their lower prize budgets. It was a low budget original show for USA, and it ran five years for them. Big money don't make a game show any better in most cases, as most people here will tell you.

A New York taping?  Awesome.

All goes well, I hope to be in that audience Wednesday.  Would this precipitate a get-together for those going?

I had a thought on the subject recently.  (No, I don't know why.....)

The thought was instead of awarding points per word (Edwards) or word length (Cullen), why not award points based on letters remaining?

Also, in regards to KO...after seeing him for a mere 3 seconds for a piece on WeatherPlus, I'm not sure it would be a good idea.  Time looks like has not been good to him.

I agree, although it was stupid taping that show in Canada,
Oh really? Better currency rates, lower costs in almost every way? You wanna try renting out a studio for a cable game show? Go nuts. But be ready for a Bonus Jackpot of $500.

I disagree. There was no good reason for the value of the chain to increase each round. I thought it was clever to have the score of the word pegged to its length. It worked.

I hope this version has bigger payoffs.
It won't. GSN is even smaller than USA.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I've not seen either version of the show, so I'm extremely intrigued on how this will play out regardless...

Edwards CR started at $3000 and got as high as about $12,000.  I think GSN could, if they wished to follow the old format, follow the new Lingo Super Jackpot, and start at $10,000.  It's not like Lingo in that there's an intermediary level ($5000).  So, why not?

During the teams of two era it started at $3K. During the single players era, it started at $2K. And, there was a $13K win during the single players era.

The one change I did like in the Emmons/Edwards version was the ability to give a letter to the opposing team instead of taking it.

In the few times I've seen a team use the option, they did so in such a poor manner you'd hope they got rid of it. It was a great, great strategy move, but nobody utilized it.

Just got confirmation that I'll be attending the taping of the 'Chain Reaction' pilot tomorrow, so that's THREE.  So, which bakery sweets will we consume after the taping is complete (wink, wink)?
