Tpir live tickets arrived :)
« on: April 01, 2006, 12:03:54 PM »
As promised, tickets arrived before 12PM on Saturday, so if anyone wants to know how reliable that service is, it worked for me.  I'll be there for the 3PM showing.  Probably wearing a very recognizable 3 Stooges shirt..  I really wish we could see the premier of Feud too, but they only wanted to see one show a day for some reason..

Now, questions...

1)How early is too early to get there if we are just there for the show and don't care to do any gambling or site seeing?  Do they keep you outside in line, inside the casino, etc?  Wondering what to look for when we arrive.

2)As I run a website, is there any way I might be granted access to take pictures, or behind the scenes info for a detailed review on Price Live?  We'll be there to see Marc Summers host next time he's around, hopefully paired with Randy....I'd be interested to see Marc's take on Price.

And 3)What if you don't want to be a contestant?  I'm just there to enjoy the show :).  Also, do the hosts keep 8X10's around to autograph? :)

Later!

1) You still need to get there in plenty of time to do the registration. I would recommend getting in line to register before 12noon. The line on weekends can take a little while to go through. From there, go enjoy some lunch somewhere (Johnny Rockets is right on the boardwalk..go out the main Bally's entrance), then come back. That's your best bet.

2) I don't think anyone is really allowed backstage, although I could be wrong. Perhaps John or someone else with the show could validate that statement for me.

3) Don't wanna be a contestant? Bid one dollar on everything in registration. No 8x10's, but the hosts will autograph anything you bring.

To answer your questions, if you have your tickets you can register anytime from 11:30am until 15 minutes til showtime.  Again, that's if you have ACTUAL TICKETS, not a coupon for tickets.  If you have a coupon I suggest getting there as soon as possible as ticket distribution is on a first-come-first-serve-basis.

We do not allow anyone backstage access to Price Live nor are any photos or video allowed in the showroom, sorry about that.

Right now Todd Newton is hosting for the next 2 weeks.

We do not have 8x10s for anyone to sign, I'm sure if you take a photo they will be happy to sign it as the host, announcer and models do a short "meet and greet" after each show.  We also have a limited amount of Price Sweatshirts available for sale after the show.

If you do not want to be a contestant, no ticket registration is needed, simply go to the show.  Again, that's if you have a ticket and not a coupon.  If you have a coupon you must redeem that for tickets at the box office of the Palace Theater of the Claridge.

Hope you all have fun!

John

Yep, we  have actual tickets.  So with that info, I guess we'll head out there and be there  by 2PM tomorrow... don't think there's going to be too much  traffic..

So, we can't even take pics of the stage even before the event?  I remember someones review where they actually took pictures during the show, as I beleive someone was playing Hole in One, or Two...

If I take a pic with the host, can we mail it back to the casino, and have them receive it for it to be signed?

We have 2 shows on sunday, 3 and 7, not sure what the crowds would be like, if you want to register to become a contestant, you can do that anytime, doors open 30 min before the performance.

The theater curtain is closed until the show begins and as I said there are no photos allowed, if someone was able to take any it was in violation to our rule.

As for taking a pic and then sending it to us to sign, we wouldn't be able to do that. Perhaps you can find a pic of Todd online and print something out.

In any event, you'll have a great time.

Just a quick note.

Got there at 2:35 PM.  Walked right into the stage floor.  Found our seat (Wish we had the bucket type seats.  Easier on the neck).  Daniel Rosen was a great announcer, and really nice guy.  Got to admire someone who can wear a pink suit in public :).

Todd seemed like a genuinely nice guy also.  Each of them stayed for about 8 minutes outside talking with the guests.  I got to Dan first, who commented on my shirt.  Then I just barley got to Todd before  he went out of the lobby.  Told him how much I enjoyed Whammy, and said they've got some more fun stuff cooking down the line.

After, we decided to try a little gambling.  I picked a machine, put in a five dollar bill....thing got stuck.  Took the employee staff FORTY MINUTES to get someone down to help us.  It was a matter of principle by then, other wise we would have headed out and forgotten about it..Don't try anything other than coin slots from now on :).

I'll post pictures later today when we get home/home up north.  Another two hour trip :).

Games we saw, Clock Game, Whole in One, Mountain Climber,  In the Bag, and can't remember the others...

Well Shredder, that reeks of suckitude...40 minutes to get your dough back...ouch.  This is why I stick to table games...and the occasional Match Game slot play.

I gotta ask for your opinion though...has Rosen improved since his audition on the CBS show?  I'll hold out hope...but nasally voices don't do it for me.  That said, Daniel's prolly a hilarious guy...I just hope he doesn't give lap dances to audience members like Randy did when I last went in October...

I stick mainly to the game show-inspired slots but I couldn't help trying the South Park slot machine I saw on my last cruise... that time it was South Park and Wheel for me.  This big spender lost all of $5. :-)

Where where the Game Show slots in that place?  I wanted to go around and find one afterwards, but after that experience, my transportation just wanted to head out.  Even after we saw the guy next to us plunk in 5$'s, and win 740 in about 4 tries.. If it's that easy, I need to try it more :).

As far as TPIR slots go, they don't have many. I know of 4 near the theater (I believe Cliffhaners & Plinko)

If you are looking for TPIR, I'd suggest going to Harrah's near Trump Marina. They have about 15 which isn't a lot, but they do have all 4 versions (Cliffhangers, Plinko, Dice Game, and the rarely seen but best of them all, Punch-a-Bunch)

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Ballys (Park Place, not the Wild Wild West) has a whole lot of em near the front doors that take you out to the Boardwalk. Last I saw, all 4 varieties that cmjb just mentioned where there. Plus, as you are walking out to the boardwalk, stick to the right wall, there's a row of "The 100,000 Pyramid" with Dick Clark slots! Very nice.

Yesterday they didn't start until 12. I don't know if that was a one time thing or not.

Showboat has a bank of game show slots, or at least they had one...Password and Match Game slots o' plenty right near the showroom area.  My best advice...head over to the penny slots because if you're lucky you'll find one of the Dick Clark Blooper slots.  I crapped away $10 on it...but 'twas fun.

Sigh... If anyone knows what weight loss tips worked for them, fill me in.  I've tried eating less for two months and exercising...nothing.  i've tried cutting back on portions and exercising...nothing.  I've tried eating different things...nothing.  This is why I hate taking pictures, but in this instance, I can't resist when it comes to TV personalities.

No way I'm letting anyone see the full res pictures :)
