As per Wikipedia, a certain one-time GS host was supposedly offered the chance to play one of the most famous superheroes of all time, but turned it down...do you know who it was?

Perhaps his motto could've been "When you save the planet, YOU WIN!!!"...

Remember that Wikipedia isn't always 100% reliable, as discussed in an Invision thread a few weeks ago. People who don't know their stuff can change the entry and make it truer or falser than it already is.

Somehow, I can't picture Kelcey as Superman.

According to imdb, one of the cartoon voices Bob Hastings did was that of Clark Kent as Superboy, so I don't know if he ever voiced Superman.  OB: Game Show, in early 74, the planets aligned ever so briefly that you could see both Capt. Binghamton and Lt. Carpenter hosting game shows, and usually McHale would show up as a guest on one show or the other.

Actually, this is completely true. I have the special edition of the Superman movie and in the special features IIRC, a clip of his screen test is shown.
