NBC Friday Night Schedule Change
« on: April 20, 2006, 05:35:48 PM »
According to Zap2it.com, NBC has decided to yank "Celebrity Cooking Showdown" from the lineup for tonight and tomorrow.  On Friday, "Deal or No Deal" will air in its place (new or rerun yet to be announced).

Hardly surprising, due to the lackluster ratings.

I'm still awaiting payment from NBC for "Pink Lady and Jeff" and every single last Very Special "Facts Of Life".

I haven't seen the show (and I guess probably won't), but with reality shows, you never know whats gonna work and what won't.  If only Bruno Gerussi had been alive to host, maybe it would have worked.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Well, no, in this case you pretty much looked at it and said "Ya know, they changed JUST enough of Iron Chef to not get sued." Then you realized that Alan Thicke is a ninny and they pulled the hooting and hollering audience straight out of a DoND taping and wondered what idiot thought this was a good idea.

Plus, anytime I turn on my TV and Tom Arnold standing there doing that idiotic nervous bounce of his is bound to end in tears. That guy would be on a streetcorner with a "WILL TELL BAD JOKES FOR FOOD" sign if he hadn't banged out Roseanne.

Golf clap for the obscure-to-anyone-ouside-Canada Canadian TV Icon reference. I don't follow the link but whatever floats your boat.  :)

BTW, Jackson Davies would be the correct answer. :-D

If they're not then they deserve to be.  According to this story from The Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/newswire.cgi?id=7137) the Wednesday night episode of 'Cooking' got a 1.6 rating and ranked fifth for the night in its time slot behind everything but 'One Tree Hill'...FIFTH[/u].  Is this the lowest rating a network show on the big three has ever gotten?  My God that's low!

That's the 18-49 ratings...still pretty damn low. The show got an overall 4.9, which is almost half of last week's D/ND rating.

Source...oww too much link typing!

That was a nod to the successful Canadian "Celebrity Cooks" series Bruno hosted starting in the fall of 1975. It was still running on CBET in Windsor at least in 1988. (albeit in reruns)

A 2001 XFL game on Saturday night drew a 1.6 HH rating.

My bad, sorry!  And that XFL 1.6 HH rating sounds about right for lowest rating in the 'big three' history.

Would the Friday night showing of Deal or No Deal in question be the Miss USA show, just as a lead in to the Miss USA Pagent tomorrow? For my sake I hope it is, 'cause I missed it.
