That was a nod to the successful Canadian "Celebrity Cooks" series Bruno hosted starting in the fall of 1975. It was still running on CBET in Windsor at least in 1988. (albeit in reruns)

It also aired in a few US markets in syndication.  Some of my old TVGuides from the late '70s time frame confirm this...although I never made a note of which stations aired it.

In other scheduling news, Deal has been extended to 2 hours on Monday 5/15. and it will be pre-empted by Dateline the following Friday.

I hope its not going to be as painful to watch as the last 2-hour show they did...

NBC's programming continues to be an embarrassment and their top daytime personality just jumped ship for another network

Mine didn't detect sarcasm in that question either.  Steve, think VERY early in the day.

They got off cheap in my case.  I made it to the first commercial and bailed.

Alan Thicke was on some morning show of a Seattle radio station yesterday, plugging his program, not even realizing that it had been pulled yet. It had done That Badly in the ratings. Don't feel bad for our friend from the Great White North, he's now moved on to a 'live reality show' in Vegas where couples can win $1 million...after getting through a time share presentation.

Oh yeah, he'll be fine.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

And don't get me started on how they let Friends last 10 years!

And how there's now almost two complete rows of Friends DVDs in your local music/movie store; from the season sets, to the "best of" each season, to the finale, to the shorter DVDs with nothing but baby episodes, marriages, etc.  They certainly are trying to milk that show for all its worth, aren't they.

Now, if only they could do that for shows which are actually my favorites, rather than the ones I rarely watched!

ObGame Shows:  there was a question about Friends on Jeopardy once.  How's that  :)

Didn't Joey go on Pyramid during season 10?

Yes, very good.  I was actually referring to the Jeopardy question a couple of years ago that referred to another show called Friends in the late '70s.  It was a Sunday night show on ABC that lasted about 6 episodes.

And IIRC, it was the first show that Jill "Capt. Stuebing's Niece" Whalen appeared on before she got the [Ernie Anderson] "Loooovvvveeee Booooaatt" [EA] gig.

Apparently, ABC couldn't "be there for [them]".

Okay, that sucked...I'll be in the TTD90 room this weekend.

Pre-emptive strike against ABC.  The 2-hour season finale of "Gray's Anatomy" is scheduled that night.

And since NOBODY watches network TV Saturday nights anymore, what better time to "burn the food"?  I mean, hardly anybody schedules first-run anything on Saturday this season.
