Anyone know what font was used for TH's logo in the 80s?

...and before you ask, Grand Exalted Mr. Lemon, it's for game party project.

"They" could do worse than to bring back Treasure Hunt.

Some day I will start my own cable channel and make these things happen.

Would it have a Q&A segment before the hunting and be hosted by a Borscht Belt comedian?

The late 50s original Treasure Hunt was hosted by Jan Murray, who IIRC came from that Central NY comedy circuit. Contestants had to answer questions to determine who got a shot at the treasure hunt. Barris' version in the 70s originally was going to have the Q&A segment, but decided against it.

How does any of this relate to a font?  And who are "They?"

I don't know about the font, but I do remember it was pretty much identical for the font from the "Jackie Brown" trailers. Might wanna find some Tarantino fansites, they might could help you. :-)

You'd be looking for Caslon Black with swashes. If it's not available in digital form (I couldn't find it), perhaps you'd like to try some Cabernet, which has a very similar flavor.

And when the time comes for an '80s Pyramid revival, you'll want the original version of Bookman. Just thought I'd mention it - no affiliation, etc....

I always thought it was the basis for Ray Larabie's freeware font Shifty Chica, but mystery7 may be right.

Yes, but you wouldn't get swashes like the ones in the TH logo - you'd have to make them since they're not part of the character set.
