DoND will be 1 hr., 35 minutes due to a presidential address or conference Monday night.  It won't be pre-empted, just edited down.

So, if you're even *thinking* about calling your local NBC's affiliate switchboard, you're wasting your time this go-around.

My .02 is that they'll cut out the check presentations at least.

The two hour DOND's can use some editing, so Bush's pep rally is as good as excuse as any to edit it down.

I doubt this, but will the entire 2-hour braodcast be re-aired on CNBC the next night? Did they do this with the previous 2-hour special?

Don't know about CNBC, but the 2-hour episode will air in its entirety outside of the Eastern/Central time zones, as NBC is airing the speech live in alll time zones so it will air outside of prime-time out west.

Could the extra segments that are edited out on the East/Central zones be put on NBC.com?

Just for clarification: Will there be no loss of game play in this edited version?

Thanks.

The problem with this:  FOX at least touted that they will be showing the shows IN FULL after the president's speech (and they do have it scheduled for 8:20/7:20

If I understand Terry the K's issue (and it's possible I don't), it's that FOX is not trimming their shows to end on time while NBC is.  Of course, it's not like FOX has a big late-night program to get to at 11:35 ET/PT.

Exactly.  So, what's the problem (no offense)?

I honestly don't see any problem whatsoever with trimming down a 2-hour episode of a game show, esp. when said 2-hour episode is dramatically stretched out when it's a normal one-hour episode.

But I'm not one to think normally. :-P

Problem?  What problem?  :)

I dunno--maybe he'd prefer that NBC show the ep in its entirety, or that FOX trim their shows to get 24 started on time.

This is why it pays to be able to have East and west coast feeds, as the other time zones are to have the normal 2 hr version in full. That's my hope, at least.

I don't know.... the show that I saw (East Coast feed) looked like there was still a lot of chaff left in it, with such stunts as the cameo appearances of Regis Philbin (who seemed miffed when Howie said "final answer") and Jay Leno, quite logically riding a Harley.

Did they start a third game? I only saw the conclusion of the carryover game and the game with the lady whose husband was in Fallujah.

They didn't. After that lady took her deal, they did another commercial. They came back with Howie giving info on how they got the satellite from Iraq and said goodbye. There were six or seven models holding cases as if a game were in progress, but the contestant and her family were still on stage.
