*throws a naked gun at Jimmy*
God please no. Let's let the *throws X at Y* cliche die the ignominious death it deserves, okay?
We can't have that. Every GSF cliche is going to live forever, no matter what, because for every person who thinks that it's worn out, unfunny and a waste of time, there are ten that laugh themselves silly when someone 'throws a heap of radioactive waste at Sam Sixpack."

And no, I don't have that on tape.

My TiVO caught the episode of The Late Late Show with Ricki on it and they showed a clip of the TPiR segment with Paige Davis. It gives a little bit of information away that may spoil it for some people (though it  might not spoil as much as CBS has done already with the promos). The only thing I will comment on (at least in this clip) is the sound quality. It has the "taped in a giant auditorium" feel to it. The audio is kind of echoy and the audience was DonD-like loud. Since it is a competition, the audio was probably done like that on purpose, like they are in a stadium, (and maybe so it's not to be confused with the regular show) it just sounded odd. Other than that, this looks like it's going to be great, can't wait until Wednesday. I really hope it's a hit so we can see this each summer, like the Olympics of Game Shows. I've been trying to spread the word to friends and co-workers (if they haven't seen the promotions on CBS yet).

I just caught another run of the ad. The "Family Feud" segment isn't spoiled for me because I don't know who these people are well enough to recognize them in the 1/2 second they're on screen.

On another note, holy damn if that's not the actual "Card Sharks" set from 1978. Props to the prop crew.

The hanging CS sign (and brief glimpses of the set) from the intro shown on the commercial is from the actual Perry series and not a recreation, yes?

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Are there any screengrabs of this?

There's a 5-second spot that shows a shot of the GSM Card Sharks contestant podium.  If you want to catch it, it has aired the past two nights right before Letterman, so look for it there.

/ Yes, I prefer the Perry set
// And Perry as a host
/// Whoo slashies
//// Am I using these right?

It looks like the set is real but the sign is an old clip.

It kind of was... studio 46 is rather auditorium-like, and the audience was loud (I couldn't hear a thing going on during Press Your Luck).

There really was a neon Card Sharks sign on the set. Oh yes.

Since I don't want to take any chances here, let's be clear that we don't need any showoffs with TiVo and a good eye to tell us who they are.  Those of us who haven't actually seen the ads yet would just as soon remain in the dark, thank you very much.

The first time I read Travis' message, it just sounded like something that some of our members might read as an invitation.  Restrain yourselves.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Worse; we'll make you sit through the taping of "Low Budget Game Show Marathon."  Patrick Wayne will host as whatever's left of the cast of Diff'rent Strokes plays Ruckus, You're in the Picture, Thousand Dollar Bee, Shopper's Casino (curse you, Klauss), Bargain Hunters, Quicksilver, and Free 4 All.

Instantly followed by a mini-marathon of "Darryl Heine's Finest", consisting of old Price is Right episodes, all with old packaging on grocery items, and one episode of "Way Out Games".

You're cursing me about Shopper's Casino, The $1000 Bee, or both?
