We need to get back on topic guys. On the sentence, obviously Hatch's luck ran out. But, it ran out LONG before then. Even before he was voted off "Survivor All Stars".
[/quote]Luck had nothing to do with it. Richard Hatch thinks he's smarter than anyone he comes across. It just happens that he was able to bully his way through the inaugural season of "Survivor," but players who knew his tricks didn't fall for it.

He knew there were taxes to pay, because I don't believe any smart person could go that dumb on a single topic. He thought he could outsmart the system, and found out that's untrue. Oops.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

I can just picture Steve Beverly once again typing "once voted 'the Most hated Man in America" with feverish glee.

Da Perf makes a BBB run? (besides I'm sure there are a few guys higher on *THAT* ladder...)

A cursory glance at the RICO laws would suggest that maybe he was tried under that set of rules (RICO has a wide umbrella, not just racketeering). I suppose the judge wants to make an example out of Rich (or punish him for being so stupid/arrogant to accept then walk away from a plea bargain).

Consider the source.

If that offends anyone, I apologize.

Never use "reality" and "Richard Hatch" in the same sentence:

Quote
U.S. District Judge Ernest Torres said he believed Hatch had repeatedly committed perjury on the witness stand during his trial in January.

"There's no nice way to say it: Mr. Hatch lied," Torres said, later adding that Hatch took a serious offense and made it worse by offering deliberately false testimony.

When Hatch was convicted, Torres said he expected to sentence him to 33 months to 41 months. Instead, he gave him 51 months.
D'oh! I'll see your 33 months and raise you 18.

Quote
He appeared upbeat after learning he was headed to prison for more than four years, shaking hands with his lawyers and greeting family members, then calling out, "See you later, Mom."
"Just make sure my birthday cake has a file in it." My son the convict.

Quote
"What it looks like to me is he still doesn't get it" U.S. Attorney Robert Clark Corrente told reporters outside court.
Really, counselor? What gave you that notion?

Quote
Hatch's attorney, Michael Minns, portrayed him as a bumbling bookkeeper overwhelmed with sudden fame and wealth who never intended to commit a crime. Minns said Hatch was appealing and had told the truth at trial.

Hatch was also sentenced to three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay taxes still owed for 2000 and 2001 and to undergo counseling.
Richard Hatch, meet Henry Block.

Quote
He abruptly walked away from a plea deal with prosecutors
You can take the plea bargain, or you can take what's inside cell number 1435. Richard got zonked.

It takes all kinds, I guess.

OK, Horanistas, when was the word "offense" used as a password? And was the obvious clue "DEE-fense..."

Per discussions on Alt-TV.Game-Shows, never on Password Plus. They didn't allow opposites.

The way you typed "absolutely" is offensive to me and borders on mental cruelty.
And another thing! Except for an innocent platonic handshake, I never once
laid hands on Jack Clark.
