I guess they only do that do them for later Dawson episodes; I don't think the Syndie Dawson and Combs eps do speed-ups, I don't know if Game Show Network's airing of the CBS episodes had speed-ups.

Thumbs in the middle, because I really enjoyed the first epsiode of the hour of Feud that we got. And of course, the second epsiode is a lame sped-up epsiode that GSN aired literally a few months ago. Do they put ANY thought in  these things? And don't get even me started on TPiR...

So, here we are.  Very close to the end & there was still a possibility of maybe a TPIR airing, but what's this at #4?  Why it's TPIR!  And as usual, a passing mention without even a word about the original host Bill Cullen.  Thanks a lot GSN!

Now, on to #3 Family Feud.  My guess was this was a 1976 epiaode because the pacing was rather nodest to start & Richard Dawson nearly forgeting about the no adding money on a steal answer on the first double question(he got excited so he says).  The Fast Money round was certainly a rib tickler at that.

As for the 2nd episode, ACK!  Did thay have to have that thing speeded up like that?  Not onky that, there were no lolipops there at the end of the family podia or even a Ray Combs episode to show us.  At least we saw a Fast Money win.  Overall, this one's a sideways thumb here.

And then, there were 2.  At this point, I'll give this countdown a mere 7.1 unless I see something good out of #1.  The best was LMAD at #7, the worst, DED at #34 or wherever it was.

That was within the first couple of weeks of the show. The tipoff, besides the more stilted presentation, was (believe it or not) the painted microphones. Early in the run, the contestant mics were painted brown and the two podium mics were blue.

A check of some info reveals that this was Episode #20, aired 8/6/76. I don't know if they let that guy play Fast Money again, but next show they did win $5,000 again. :-P

They seem to have been used until sometime in '77; I remember the first one or two of the syndicated episodes having them, until they went to the more familiar round ones used for the rest of the run.

They moved from Vine Street long before the lockout button changes--I believe it corresponds to when Alter started doing the insert shot of the second contestant on the right half of the Fast Money board during that play.  It started sometime within the second or third month.

And if this is episode number 20, I guess they were bringing out a new family and leaving them high and dry for longer than the first week.  (I wonder if they ever thought of having Dawson say "We'll chat tomorrow, but now let's play the Feud!" and going on to a question--or was the first question always 6+ answers?)

And despite all that you could say about this travesty, please remember that the average viewer is not recording every minute of GSN every day and doesn't know that a certain show last aired only a few weeks ago.  If you keep in mind that the hardcores like us are a small minority of the audience, you'll be much saner.

Oh yes,--Les would be throwing a fit in Santa Monica, near Fremantle's offices.  GSN's offices haven't been in Culver City for years.

The fact they didn't do this and just play is why I disagree with Matt and believe "Feud" was never meant to straddle.

Somehow, GSN comes up with a way to commit a crime more heinous than Dawson's tablecloth shirt/tie combo in the first episode.

The reality of it all screamed that there wasn't going to be a Price episode shown. You could spot that one from Poughkeepsie.

BUT NUMBER FOUR? That's nothing more than GSN throwing a hissy fit over losing the rights (and probably the bigger picture of their issues with Fremantle).

So now we get a top three, all of which are shown on the channel.

Magical. Just freakin' magical. Taking nothing away from Match Game, but I'd love to know (other than the completely inexcusable excuse of "we own the rights") where they figure that a show that was resurrected and canned three times ranks higher than a show that debuted the same day and NEVER WENT OFF THE AIR.

It wasn't even the same day. It was ten months before that when TPiR started, making this insipid Fifty Fest absurdity complete.
