I didn't find anything unusual about this episode except Loraine's Gold Rush towards the end of the episode where she won it in 22 seconds.  I wonder if it's a record or at least close to it.
In Bil's intro to Blockbusters, he said the episode 'has a unique place in BB history .... more on that later.'

We saw LaRae win the Gold Run for $2,500, pushing her total to $42,000. Before the final segment, Bil added that LaRae 'retired' with $47,000 -- meaning she won the ensuing Super Gold Run.

The bar's pretty low if that's a 'unique place' -- unless 22 seconds is a Gold Run record.

I'd rather have seen one of the $120,000 max-out winners.

Well, I guess we'll find out tonight if GSN made any one-shot deals beyond Sony series not currently on the schedule.  "Tattletales" will take up half the show, but which one will fill up the other half?
I'm guessing the other three shows will be discussed, with at least one of them getting a more thorough tribute than Studs did.

Last night's installment was underwhelming compared to the night before, but it was still cool to see Blockbusters in prime time, even if it wasn't a particularly outstanding episode.

I think #45 or #44 will get a bit of clipshow, unless executives were begging for Queen For a Day to return...

Even though you can see them every day?  (BB on GSN, HoSho on TV Guide Channel)
My cable provider doesn't get TVG Channel, so Hollywood Showdown was the first for me since its original PAX run.

Dunno about QFAD, but as I type this, a freaking episode of STYD is on right now. Looks like Finn's 2nd to last season.

Well, Night 3 gets off to an interesting start, as Finn STYD gets a full ep at 45.

It's so much better than the current revived version of it. All the physical challenges were fun, with some challenge in most. Overall enjoyable show.

Gee what a....nice....surprise. A full episode of Shop Til You Drop. Eh. It'll pass the 30 minutes.
I'll bet my bottom dollar that 44 & 42 get measley passing mentions and 43 gets a whole episode.

Must search for a nice mixer with this bottle of vodka, stolen from someone who voted on these 50 shows.

And, as expected, ToC gets the passing mention before the final break of the half hour.

And Tattletales gets a full ep, also as expected.  William "Captain Kirk" Shatner is one of the contesti on this ep.

I thought the two they would show would be Truth or Consequences & Tattletales. I never expected Shop Til You Drop.

At least they showed an episode from the superior Finn version.

here's the problem with these countdown shows.  They can only show what they have the rights to.  I read a few days ago what 4 shows would be "honored" tonight and it was obvious which 2 would get aired.

It was news to me that GSN had the rights to Shop Til You Drop. Shopping Spree, yes. Shop Til You Drop? Who'd have thunk it?
