Mary Hart was a co-host on the LA edition of "PM Magazine" and until April of 82 was the co-host of NBC daytime's "Regis Philbin Show."  The ET show came shortly after that.

Of course, Don, you probably already knew that.

Yes.  They've shown black-and-white prime-time episodes from the early-to-mid 1960s before, as well as color daytime eps from 1966-67.

...and one of the promos appears to show a color "Password" from the '60s (Tony Randall) so that's probably what we're going to see when that one comes up.

First up tonight? An episode of Win, Lose, or Draw from the first week of the syndicated show with Bert Convy.  (IIRC, it's the Friday ep, but it's been a few years since GSN's ran this, so I don't exactly remember)

Wow.  GSN really seems to have attoned for last week's gaffes, first with Mckee's TTD and Norma Brown's Card Sharks, and now with WLOD starting off night 9.

And, it's The Joker's Wild at 23, Jack Berry's second show on the countdown (Twenty-One at #40)

THe Joker's Wild  is 23, and I'm so excited because I've never seen an episode with the second syndie set!  Ain't gonna lie, looks pretty sharp!

I just ended a phone conversation to watch TJW. Bed Bath and Beyond first thing in the morning!
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

WLoD is a better game show than Password Plus, Scrabble, or Card Sharks? Really?

OF course it is, because as we know, if GSN says it's better, it must be, riiiiiiight?

I disagree with it myself, but we've long since established this countdown has absolutely no basis in reality whatsoever, this is just one continuation of a recurring theme (though I could think of a few dozen shows they COULD have aired that WOULD have been worse.)

Just a FWIW - a good squint at the copyright date during the credits (larger TVs help) indicates this was a 1984 episode, putting it right AT the tail end of Barry's run prior to his death.

It is indeed. They even threw in an Audience Game at the end, too. I don't remember them doing that every day.

I hadn't seen one of these later TJW episodes before. I'm glad they didn't show one of those tournament episodes again.

On a musical note, I noticed there was a different Face the Devil cue (and it wasn't an old Bullseye cue) and a trip cue I've never heard before.

Oh, yes.  To Brandon: I honestly have never felt the need to go to Bed Bath and Beyond for anything before.  I don't even *like* Jack Barry.  But alas, I admit, I've ran out of towels.

I think this was a regular occurence, starting with either the 1982 or 1983 season (I want to say 1983)..

I noticed a few things from this episode....I seem to remember someone along the way saying that Jack Barry made up his own rules as he went along...Case in point was when Debbie won the game by getting three jokers and answering the question; I thought the champion had one last spin to try to catch up - did this change?

I also haven't seen too many hosts "tone down" wild contestants...Jack going even so far as to say he didn't like excited contestants and not to jump up and down because the podia will break!
