Case in point was when Debbie won the game by getting three jokers and answering the question; I thought the champion had one last spin to try to catch up - did this change?

I am fairly sure that we've covered this, and this is the exception to the rule, as spinning three jokers means "you win and get $500 for doing so", as opposed to "you get your score augmented to $500 and your opponent gets a final spin."

The Audience Game may have started in September or October 1981 to take away the annual Tournaments due to its new blue-striped set. I've seen at least one episode with that same set when USA Network reran it at the time I was about a month old watching it.

Thumbs up once again. Win, Lose, or Draw is one of those shows that you like once you realize that it's gone. And, I've never seen a Jack Barry epsiode of The Joker's Wild, so I am happy. Thumbs up, and the best week so far.

Sorry, Chris.  This is the best ever, with my emphasis on why it's the best.

I have the memory of a goldfish but "Iris" can remember stuff from the moment he/she/it popped out of the womb.  Amazing.

I do have him beat.  I wasn't conceived until mid-75 (born in 76), and I remember Joker, Price, and Gambit on their premiere dates! *g*

I hadn't seen one of these later TJW episodes before. I'm glad they didn't show one of those tournament episodes again.

On a musical note, I noticed there was a different Face the Devil cue (and it wasn't an old Bullseye cue) and a trip cue I've never heard before.
[/quote]

From what I remember from when GSN reran the show, this new cue replaced the Bullseye music sometime towards the end of the 1982-83 season.  The Bullseye cue did come back when Cullen took over.

Only during the Tournament of Champions did the players get an equal amount of turns.

Totally and completely wrong, and all we have to do is point to the widespread clip of Hal In The Loud Jacket to prove it.

C'mon, mods. Half the time this guy is an idiot making no sense, the other half, he's flat wrong. Do something, I beg of you.

Whoa, whoa. Wait.

Chris, you pointed out that three Jokers + right answer = game won and over, and if it's the challenger who wins, the champion does not get a final turn.

rebelwrest, in response, was saying that only during tournaments does that not happen--he presumably means that a champion would get a chance to spin in that round.

Now, I have no idea what the rule was for tournaments, but how can the "lucky suit" clip refute the above? That was regular play, with a champ spinning three Jokers.

Which was my point. I interpreted RebelWhatever's statement to mean that "only in TOC's did someone get a final spin, ever." If he meant "in a three-Joker situation", then great, but I'd be shocked, considering his track record.

Man. Well, all right. I'm not gonna argue track records, and I can certainly see the futility of saying "but that would make no sense". But when I see

"special rule?"
"special rule."
"exception"

with the first two parts quoted before the third, I'm gonna read the third as "exception to special rule", no prompting necessary. It might help that I tend to read a post's content before I notice who wrote it.
