Your list of what's "well in hand" doesn't include Let's Make A Deal, and that one really seems a lock.

So if Love Connection is a foregone conclusion, then even if they don't include Super Password (and I don't think they will), there are two slots left for three pretty big shows they don't have:  Concentration, Name That Tune and Double Dare.  As we continue to climb the charts, the "issue" now is omissions.  Which of those was left out in favor of Studs, Shop Til You Drop and Three's a Crowd?

I'll give you another one:  Shop Til You Drop makes the list, but Supermarket Sweep doesn't?  And if it does, then TWO of those major shows get left out.

Cannot believe I forgot LMAD.

We're now guaranteed to have, what, two (three) pretty big shows guaranteed to be omitted regardless, assuming all the locks..are (and that's if Super Password is seperate, which I personally don't think it should be, but what I think is immaterial) at LEAST.  A-mazing.

I just cannot see DD on the list, if only due to it's status held as a "kid's show".  I could very well be wrong though.

I just remembered something...back when Greed popped up, Bill mentioned that it was the first of 4 shows that Chuck Woolery hosted that were going to be on the countdown.

We've alreay seen Greed and Scrabble.  But Lingo, Dating Game, Love Connection, and Wheel were all hosted by Chuck.  That's 4 more...for six.  That would seem to indicate that 2 of the last 4 are going to be omitted, or, they're going to air Lingo and Love Connection, and completely ignore Chuck's involvement in DG and Wheel.

Thumbs up today. I almost thought it would be a throw-away, since all Bil mentioned was Anne's version of Weakest Link, but was surprised when George Gray's was showcased. And it was a treat to see that Steve Allen epsiode of I've Got a Secret. I think Concentration will be the one to make the list, with Double Dare and Name That Tune being omitted, unless Love Connection doesn't make it...

It would be borderline BLASPHEMY, IMHO, if Concentration and Name That Tune were omitted. Then again, it wouldn't shock me in the least at this point. The fact that shows like Studs and 3's A Crowd would make a best game show list while any one of DD, Concentration, NTT, and Supermarket Sweep might not puts things in perspective quite well...

Not ever seeing a 1972 ep of IGAS, tonight was a real treat for me. Amarillo Slim was good for some laughs, and you can't beat Uncle Milty...

This week starts off with a little surprise for me.  The George Grey syndie Weakest Link at #22.  I never liked Anne Robinson anyway.  Grey was just as good as she was.  This episode didn't get me excited all that much anyway even though I watched the first few minutes of it.  Then along comes...

...another one of my least favorite panel shows with I've Got a Secret(#21).  The only good thing about this was a clip of its revival version before the '70s version.  Hearing that Dwyer made reference to the fact that the original version only lasted for 13 weeks back in '52.  When it was brought back, it stayed on for an amazing 15 years.  Was it really that good?  I dunno, but I'm wondfering why it was brought back in the first place.  A lomg run like that puts it in the Top 10 in terms of longevity anyways.

I have 4 possible shows for those 3 "wild card" slots.  They are:

Concentration
Super Password(if P+ made it, why not?)
Name That Tune
Double Dare

I'm sure at least 2 of them will hit the Top 20 where it picks up again at #20.

And it shows how the times have changed....Amarillo Slim won $60,000 for the WSOP win, and last night they set the final table for this year's Series, and the winner gets $12 million (heck, even 12th place got a million plus).

I think it might be on the list for the simple fact that it took a struggling cable channel and seemingly overnight quadrupled it's ratings upon its debut.  That more than amazing fact makes it more than justified (at least in my book) to be on this list, somewhere in the top 20.  I don't see why a show for kids is any different than a show for adults, it's still a game, right?

Although I wouldn't put Double Dare in my personal top twenty, it wouldn't really surprise me to see it in theirs, for the reasons Nicholas mentioned.  Still, if they leave it out in favor of Concentration and Name That Tune, I'd be fine with that.  Omitting either of those classics would just be absurd given some of the lower entries.

True that, although if you look at what's potentially left, I can't see DD supplanting any of the remaining entries.  Only GONG would I consider to be bumpable, yet its inclusion in the promo clip seems to indicate that GONG will make the list.  Even though NTT and CONCENTRATION won't be shown, I also can't see DD nudging them out either.  And we've already rehashed the rest of the locks, which DD won't nudge out.

I think NTT will probably be the glaring omission on this list.  Considering that this is a decidedly "younger-skewing" list and that they already included Remote Control, along with the reason Nicholas gave, I just can't see DD not making it.   And Concentration had too long of a history for it to be ignored.  NTT just hasn't had as much of an impact as the other two.
