It felt like the Chuck Barris hour tpnight. As for #1, I don't have a clue, if it's Jeopardy!, great, Wheel of Fortune, that's fine.  I may be off by a long shot, but don't ya think that we deserve something better on the countdown than what we're getting? I'm just stumped.

Except Dating Game came at least 15 years before Love Connection, if not more.

Two words:

Friggin Studs.

This list is nothing more than an opportunity to see shows that GSN hasn't aired in years, and prolly never will.

/Still drooling from that TJW episode.

Does anybody know where I can find the 1st half "let's meet your date" and prize cues? The LMYD cue was also used on The Joke's On Us.
It's possible that the prize cues are on the Chuck Barris Game Show Themes CD.  A good amount of Treasure Hunt/The Newlywed Game cues are on that CD.  I didn't see tonight's show.  Thus, I don't know what cues were used.

Surely someone who saw tonight's show has a more definite answer...

They cut out the "In the butt" answer! WTF!
Umm.. You do realize that these are the original airing copies, and that in '77, it was not commonplace to hear "In the ass" on national television, right? Even if she said butt, toosh, gluteus maximus or hind quarters, that's just too much entendre for '70s daytime TV. Please put a bit of thought into posting. Thank you.
And yet, in the copy they aired on GSN, the entire phrase was blanked out, but on "Most Outrageous Game Show Moments," we get to hear the wife say, "In the ..." before the blank. Which makes me wonder: If the entire phrase was bleeped for the original NG broadcast, did the Chuck Barris people actually save an uncensored version that was newly censored for MOGSM?

(And if someone could tell me where I can get a life, I'd appreciate it.)

#10: Dating Game.
This is the first time I've EVER seen Dating Game, believe it or not. And, having digested the full half-hour, I can honestly say it felt like my soul was going to fly out of my body. (And I LIKE Andy Kaufman!) Is there something I'm missing about this show? I'm serious.

Nope. That was the 60's and 70's in all their glory, right there.

Morgan was finishing Rhyme & Reason's couplets with George Carlin's seven words back then (though the contestants weren't allowed to write them down to match her.)

Esoteric Eric...  Granted, the '70s (even with the occasional braless female contestant) were tame compared to the present day, what with implied nudity on ABC Family's original programming, let alone the coarse language on most other cable channels...

But in the case of Jaye P., didn't the "Seven Words" come about later c. 1978, instead of when R&R aired?

Thumbs up tonight, first time I've ever seen Dating Game. I LIKED Kaufman on this epsiode, but I think it's just because I'm a HUGE Taxi fan. I'm also glad to see the first season of Syndicated Newlywed with the "And now, back to Bob Eubanks!" bumper, thought that was cool. I thought it was weird how the whole phrase was bleeped out.

And on the "in the ass" quote being left uncensored, didn't The Gong Show Movie air it un-edited, for one reason or another? I just recieved the DVD copy, if I ever watch it, I'll tell you guys if it was on. I swear I heard someone say it was...

If I were watching that ep of The Dating Game and I were unfamiliar with Andy Kaufman, I'd just feel ... awkward.

Does anyone else think the host looks like David Leisure from the Isuzu ads and Empty Nest?

If they weren't going to leave Olga's answer in, they should have run a different episode and only given this one a passing mention.

I don't know about The Gong Show Movie but an uncensored clip of it does appear in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, the movie about Chuck Barris that George Clooney directed.
