Ahhh!! It was so good to see LMAD again. It brings back memories of my childhood, staying home from school watching game shows. I don't remember if it was on GSN or not, but I remember seeing the 76' episode not too long ago somewhere on TV.

My hope in GSN showing Wheel and maybe TPIR has been somewhat restored (maybe way too early, or a bit too naively), but the scheduling still has me scratching my head as to how they'd do it with the info we have. Any chance maybe one or more of the episodes next week will be a 2-hour one, to honor the top shows on the countdown with the most of GSN's so valuable *cough* air-time??

If Bil's "double dose" comment was accurate, then half of the remaining shows will be getting shafted, and no hourlong shows will be aired (which, to me, says that if they're airing Price, it'll be some old half-hour eps).

I'm not really expecting to see an ep of either Price or Wheel at this point. Out of the three shows that will get aired eps next week, I'm guessing that two of them are definitely Millionaire and MG, since they already have rights to air both (although it would be a refreshing change). If the third one is J! then I'll give up on GSN for anything except sourcing decent quality copies of PYL episodes.

Millionaire and MG
[/quote]

Then that in theory would make the other one Family Feud, as it was mentioned in the promo.
Based on that...I am now 100% sure TPiR, Wheel and J! Will get the shaft.

Thumbs up tonight, as this is the first time for me on seeing the 70's version of LMaD, which is a great show. Plus, uncrunched credits! Massive thumbs up, I thought WWTBAM was going to air tonight...

100% sure? Hmm even I'm not sure about that. Well they have been airing Jeopardy! in the timeslot on GSN, but even I'm not sure what's the last 6, Family Feud yeah, Match Game yeah, Millionaire? I don't know. summarize I don't know what it will be, I also thought it was to be WWTBM, but again I am wrong 10 times out of 10.

I thought PYL was the best showing on this countdown untill a surprise entry at #7, Let's Make a Deal.

This was absolutely a double thumbs-up night here.  Seeing both the '72 & '76 episodes take me back to my childhood days.  I remember watching it at 1:30PM on varous occasions from an ABC affiliate there when I was in Batavia New York back then.  Seeing Monty being Monty was sure fun to watch.  There was so much unpredictability here, I swear I had no idea that there was even such a thing as the Monty Hall Problem which was mentioned by Dwyer in his segue into the '76 episode.

One thing that occured in both episodes was the savings bonds deals.  Was that a common deal in those days?  I'm sure another one is the "hide money in the candy bar" trick,  The best deal was the answering machine bit from '72.  I wish that deal was played more often.  Still, it was worth the wait.  No credit crunches at the end made it even more perfect.  Kudos to GSN there,

Now, the most pivotal week awaits us starting at #6.  At this point, I'll just leave it at that.

Also, the second ep is from the Super Deal era, with a big win at the end.  PLUS!  No crunched credits tonight!

One thing I noticed about GSN is that any show where there's talking during the credits, GSN allows the credits to play untouched. No complaints here. :-)

Although I'm not sure how they handle the comedic closings from Hollywood Squares/H^2.

As for the final shows, I'm guessing Price, MG, Feud, J!, Wheel, and Millionaire (not necessarily in that order). Unless I left something out, it looks like they'd be the last six, although I would've replaced Millionaire with Pyramid higher on the list. So, what's this about something getting the shaft? You have five of the most popular shows, arguably, plus a sixth show that's gained its own popularity in recent years. What makes it better is that all six currently air in one form or another. What's there to "shaft"?

Normally, the H² ending/credits stay untouched and uncrunched.

Doesn't look like you've been paying attention.  There's very little doubt that the six shows you mention are going to be the final six in the countdown.  However, according to comments made by Dwyer earlier in the week, only three of those shows are going to actually air on the countdown.  In other words, three of the six Greatest Game Shows of All Time might only get a passing mention when we reach their spot in the countdown.  Those three shows (at this point, generally thought to be J!, Wheel and TPIR) are the ones being referred to as getting the shaft.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.
