There's very little doubt that the six shows you mention are going to be the final six in the countdown.  However, according to comments made by Dwyer earlier in the week, only three of those shows are going to actually air on the countdown.  In other words, three of the six Greatest Game Shows of All Time might only get a passing mention when we reach their spot in the countdown.  [/quote]

I'm just not getting that from what Dwyer said, first of all, and secondly, I'm wondering why no one appears to be entertaining the idea Dwyer (or whoever wrote his script) could just flat out be wrong?  That would certainly by no means be a first on GSN.

Exact quote from Wednesday's intro:

"Welcome to the 50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time. I'm Bil Dwyer, and we're heading into the home stretch on our countdown, so we'll be giving you double doses of the shows at the top of our list." (emphasis mine)

I don't see too many ways to interpret that, to be honest. Whether it's correct or not is irrelevant to me at this point. Of course, if it does end up being incorrect, that's just another reason to dislike GSN (not like we're running short of those - Freakin' Studs, for example).

So, wait.

If that ends up being incorrect, and that means they DO get to run a memorable episode of shows that the Blithering Idiots keep suggesting are gonna get shafted, that's another reason to DISLIKE GSN?

You people really gotta make up your minds.

One thing I noticed about GSN is that any show where there's talking during the credits, GSN allows the credits to play untouched. No complaints here. :-)

I'm glad they're doing that.  There was a time when they did squeeze the LMAD credits.  I have a couple on tape.

It's another reason to dislike them because it shows incompetency, as a statement like Bil's would most certainly be cleared for air. At this point, a lot of people already dislike their handling of the countdown (not to mention GSN's other recent gaffes), so what's one more thing to pile on?

GSN set themselves up for massive failure with this countdown, given the earlier entries. I think by the time we saw Dog Eat Dog on the countdown, people should have known to expect more disappointment. Certainly, if GSN goes back on what Bil says then I'll be happy as a game show fan, but I'll still dislike GSN for outright lying on the air.

Man,  that's 2 nights in a row where I was expecting Millionaire.

(ACK! I just realized I didn't have LMaD in my top-50 vote! Matt O, check your e-mail ....)

What I'm expecting for next week's final three episodes is a stills-only, short mention of the even-numbered show, and then a double-shot of the odd number.

Under that setup, and if Wheel, J and Price are the shows not to be shown, I'd expect something like:

6-Wheel
5-Millionaire

4-Jeopardy
3-Feud

2-TPiR
1-Match Game

I have that exact quote on my website and it doesn't explain itself like you say it does.  It says "everything we have left will appear in two-episode form, starting with Pyramid."  I'm just not making that final leap of logic that says it can only mean "I swear on ten warehouses full of bibles we'll show anything in the world but The Price is Right" and nothing else.

Well, unless they dig out some early half-hour eps, there's no way they can give Price a double-shot. As for the other shows mentioned as candidates for shafting, it's just speculation on our parts.

If I'm wrong on this and they do air Price, then I'll be almost as giddy as I would be if I got unfettered access to GSN's vault.

Almost.

I think, though, that logic would suggest something pretty close to that.  IF we take the Dwyer quote at face value (and there are reasons why it doesn't make a lot of sense) then three of the last six shows are not going to be seen.  Millionaire, Match Game and Family Feud are three of their most popular shows, Wheel and Jeopardy less so, and Price, of course, they don't have at all.  On the surface, then, the most logical assumption is that the first three will be shown, and the last three won't.  Is it possible that they could surprise us with Price and not show one of the others? Sure, but that doesn't seme remotely as likely as the other explanation.

The problem with that is that it just doesn't seem logical that they'd not show Wheel and Jeopardy, when they made room for $1.98 Beauty Show and Shop Til You Drop.  Unless, perhaps, Sony has a deal with KingWorld that keeps those two shows out of prime time on GSN.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

It's possible that airing the three shows that are currently in production might be considered an insult to the intellegence of the average viewer.  Everybody knows what WOF, J and TPIR look like, they were just on that day; anybody who doesn't know about them doesn't watch TV.  I'd expect a short history lesson on the shows, and a reminder that you can see the shows everyday on your local station.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Probably. One doesn't have to like a network to enjoy programming that runs on said network.
