While doing some web-surfing yesterday , I was curious to see what times Jeopardy! and Wheel aired in the Birmingham, AL area. To my surprise, the official websites of the respective shows stated that the two air opposite each other on different stations (Jeopardy! on WIAT CBS 42 and Wheel on WBAM/WCFT/WJSU ABC 33/40) at the same time (6:30PM Central time).
I'm not sure this info is correct (I haven't had much opportunity to watch much Birmingham TV in the last few years), but if it is, it's the first I've heard of the two shows competing against each other in the same market. (Usually they air on the same station; in some cases, like in Nashville, they air on different stations but at different times.) For anyone here who lives in the Birmingham area, is this true? For everyone else, do you know of similar occurrences?
