I've no problem with that.

(NOTE: I've neutral preferences as to who was the better center square and your success was one of the highlights of the series.)

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact she helped you win some money, now would it?

Personally, I couldn't stand her...or her band of cohorts (i.e. Bruce).  The "H²" run was much welcomed.

Damn, Mark. Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel...

Going back to my statement, I actually do like Whoopi outside of her show, but on the show, I felt she let her EP power go to her head. The show flowed much better after she left.

Honestly, Bruce was cool in my book. His writing provided made for some pretty good jokes.

Still wishing for a TTD/TJW hour. Dust them tapes off, GSN!

I'm all for that...as long as they can pick up where they left off on the CBS version!

So you're saying you wouldn't drool and fire up your VCR if they didn't? C'mon.

Didn't say I wouldn't, but the syndie version has been run frequently by GSN in the past, and the CBS version only for a few months despite the fact the whole thing still exists.  I'd much rather see those lost CBS treasures!

...implies that you would NOT be "for that" if they picked up somewhere in the sequence.

Let's just say that if they returned the syndie version and never aired the CBS version again, I'd be disappointed.

Well, that's fine, but that also completely personifies why GSN shouldn't do it. If people are going to complain that they're not getting the TJW they want instead of being appreciative that they're at least reverting to the classic game show lineup that we all enjoyed back in the day, then why even program to throw them a bone? If I was in Cronin's shoes, I sure wouldn't.

I'm not saying people should fall to their knees and thank the deity of their choosing every time GSN so much as hints at airing classic shows (like people seem to be doing over this Fifty Greatest Shows series - for God's sake, people actually WANTED to see Studs?), but if something as seemingly-sought-after as TJW were to come back, turning up your nose and saying "But you're airing the WRONG ONES!" seems really whiny to me.

Maybe the old adage "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all" applies here?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

It might, but I'm still not getting a reasonable explanation as to what would be wrong about it. I'm getting one that might apply to a few tape collectors, but if we haven't gotten the point across yet that the taping contingent doesn't count for enough to matter, then we're not going to, and we have no common ground on which to engage in rational discourse.

I mean, really. If the World Series Of Go Fish or Two Hours Of Horseface Begging For People To Blow A Buck To Talk To A Real Live Girl were to be yanked off the air tomorrow (heh, he said "yanked off"), and replaced with an hour of TJW (and at first I was going to qualify here that I am excluding the Finn version, but you know what? I'm not. Even if it WAS the Finn version) and TTD (yes, even with Patrick Wayne), would that not be a net improvement?
