The Nine Network have decided to introduce a weekly, 1 hour primetime version of "Bert's Family Feud" to air on Friday nights at 7:30pm (premiering tonight). It will feature celebrity groupings to contest the $100,000 prize for charity. As the TV guides stated yesterday - they are trying to find ways of pegging back the ratings of the rival Seven Network's prgram "Better Homes and Gardens".
This is in addition to the nightly, half hour edition.
Personally - I'm not convinced that this is going to be the answer - the programs are marketed at totally different demographics. Plus - the "Family Feud" concept hasn't exactly been a ratings bonanza on its current timeslot at 5:30pm - let alone in a prime position in evening viewing time. We'll see what happens.
