Jeopardy! Taping in NYC at Radio City

Visit Ticket Page for a form to send to them for tickets.  Per a news report I saw on WABC Monday night, in honor of their 5,000th show, they will be taping ten celebrity episodes.  Some celebrities scheduled to appear are Julie Bowen, Regis Philbin, Curt Schilling (if not involved in playoffs), and Christopher Meloni.

Also, they had a live interview with Alex on the set.  The set now looks like it uses flat screen monitors for the main board like used during their road trips.

Can't wait for another rousing round of Celebrity Jeopardy! I know they don't reuse road sets, but the last NYC set is gonna be hard to beat.
Fun Fact To Make You Feel Old: Syndicated Jeopeardy has allowed champs to play until they lose longer than they've retired them after five days.

Is it because they are taking a roadtrip to NYC?

The interview with Alex was in LA.  The LA set had flat screens.

The set has been updated because of the switch of taping the show in high definition.  They explained this in the live shot with the reporter from the Jeopardy! set.  The 3 contestant podiums and Alex's podium are different, some of the color schemes are a little different (area behind Alex when he walks out is now silver), and the board does indeed now use flat screens.

Took 'em long enough. I always wondered why they didn't convert it to a single rear-projection deal like the one(s) on the Wheel set. Is the "current" CRT wall the same one from 1991, or have there been new ones built for each set since then?

Again, probably speaking ex rectum, but CRTs are cheaper to keep and they did the job extremely well.  There would be no reason to upgrade them... until now.

By the way, are they 16:9?
