Mandel Ilagan's blog has a little bit. No pics or anything, but it sounds very optimistic.

I wonder if the one thing fans won't be  'op-POSE-d too' is families posed together at the start of the show again.

No way.  How could you ever come to that conclusion?

Actually, I thought of this as well.  In the blog, "pose" is empahsized, making me think it has something to do with staging/camera work (what's the difference?).

NEW logo, OLD faceoff podium and family podiums, KARN gameboard in OLD framework, and audience-in-the-round (some located BEHIND the gameboard to the sides) and centerstage like Davidson Squares, cool forced-perspective family rooms (one is maroon and one is green), KARN music with DAWSON Intro by Burton.  Having watched the taping of the 1st episode of the season, give O'Hurley a chance on his first day - he's a little nervous, but on show 2, much more relaxed!  He's doing a GREAT job.

For the die-hards, it will be a much-welcomed return back to the future!...

(... and it's taped in the same studio alongside Judge Judy... lose on Feud and step across the aisle and speak to Judy)

Yes, but the show won't truly be it's former self unless they stop DOUBLING THE POINTS!!!!ONE11 and that $20,000 <clap clap clap clap clap> stuff.

That being said, perhaps it will stick around.

Could you clarify some of this? Are we talking old as in Dawson/Combs style, or the old Karn set pieces?

I'm going to assume that "old" means "Feud the way it should be", which would refer to the Dawson / Combs set design.

That's correct... OLD=DAWSON.  I'd assume they are the set pieces from Marathon MODIFIED.  *EMPHASIZE* They DO NOT look like they did in Marathon - they've been redressed to look MUCH NICER!  No orange walls.  Very contemporary, but the "style" is Dawson/Combs.  Dawson faceoff podium and family podiums (lit faceplate).

Not sure what you mean here. Can you elaborate?

Part of me says it took them seven years to do this, and that it's about damned time.

The other part is just happy that the show is going back to it's roots. I wish it the best.

Can it really be completely "back to its roots" without THE theme?

But if the game play is as roots-ish as reported here, it'll be fine.

I have to admit, personally I was kind've hoping for the show to take on a similar style to that of Bert's Family Feud down in Australia, but, a more retro styled Feud sounds interesting.

There might not have been an opportunity for it at the taping you were at, and I can imagine you might not have been looking for it, but offhand did you notice if they're still doing the "make the third question worth a ridiculously low number of points because one family has 170 already and we don't want to play Fast Money yet" bit?
