GSN gets new Head of Programming

Mr. Roberts is apparently going to oversee production, development, acquisitions, and planning.  He's an import from Sky in the UK, which implies he has a knowledge of European Television--a good thing considering that Scandanavia is the new England in the game show world.

Alex has a short bio of him on the blog, but I STILL don't know who he is.
This signature is currently under construction.

This will definitely be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't think it could be anything but good, but who knows? With his experience, I think this will help GSN out.

I, too, believe things will get better, considering the fact this guy has experience already with SkyTV.

Am I the only one who ever bothers to read these things to the finish

Relevent sentences lifted:
In 1996, he was appointed development executive at Sky Television, helping to focus the networks programming toward a younger, more modern audience. The repositioning spawned hits that included the reality show “Ibiza Uncovered” an edgy observational documentary franchise that ran for 5 years, and ‘Prickly Heat’ – an early game-show/reality hybrid played out on Spanish beaches.
I'd hope I'm not the only one who gets a bit of a chill when reading that.  If that's the direction GSN's heading, it's not gonna be pretty.  Nothing concrete other than the paragraph to go on, just a feeling this either 1)won't last long, or 2)won't end well.

I'm hoping that they learned their lesson from the re-branding with Dream Derby and that show with Evan Millionaire. :-P
