Both themes to
The Bob Newhart Show, the 1970s version, some great tunes by Patrick Williams, who apparently did most of the MTM 70s sitcoms (except for
WKRP).
The first rendition has a piano breakdown that could be used for a cue along the lines of a contestant intro. The closing five bars would make a sweet victory cue, and remind me a lot of the closing stinger for the contestant intro on
TJW.
Apparently the second theme was part of a 3-minute track called
"Home to Emily". This version is jazzier and makes a nice prize cue for something along the line of a stereo or home furnishings. The version used on the show was faster, although both are snazzy.
