Premiere dates question
« on: August 29, 2006, 12:27:27 AM »
I hope you guys don't mind me asking this:

What are the premiere dates for the four syndicated game shows and TPIR's 2006-2007 seasons? No special reason why, I'm just curious.

Thank you very much.

IIRC, Wheel and Jeopardy premiere on the 11th, while I can't remember if Feud premieres on the 11th or the 18th (Feud gets a 1 hour timeslot "upgrade" on the 11th in Nashville, hence the confusion on my part).  Not a clue on WWTBAM, but I'd seem to think the 11th and 18th would be the most likely candidates as well.

TPIR's season starts on September 18.  The season premiere is taping this Thursday, actually.  (They've already taped a bunch of shows for the second week onward.)

Does this mean they'll premiere the new game on the 1st ep, like they used too?

(yes, i know no one knows because it hasn't been taped yet. i'm hoping for a definitive answer if "stack the deck" is ready for air.)

Episodes with Stack the Deck have already been taped, including its first playing.  It's going to air sometime in October...I think Klauss might know the exact date.

I don't think so.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Premiere taping was delayed because Bob was still recovering with his foot, and that they just moved the premiere date back to prevent an emergency postponment.

While Stack the Deck is not out of the realm of possibility (though, nothing is, really), I wouldn't bet on it.
This signature is currently under construction.

I thought it was also for a similar reason (more because of all the cancelled tapings). However, that is not the case.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Since someone flashed the Klauss-signal...

The first ep. with Stack the Deck was taped on July 19.  It should air on October 10, give or take a day.

Could it be played on the season premiere?  Doubtful but possible.  It would look awkward if a new pricing game debuted on the season premiere but wasn't played again until 3+ weeks later.

Isn't that how they used to do it (withstanding the 3 week wait for the second airing) ?

I believe Millionaire will premiere on September 11; there will definitely be new episodes by that point.

Are you referring to pricing games which debuted on a season premiere?  The last one to do that was Time is Money.  It was played for the second time during week 2 under its original rules.  (Steve or someone else, feel free to correct me here.)  After playing #2, it underwent some game play changes and returned a few weeks later, and was (thankfully) retired shortly after.

If I misunderstood your question, Matt, I apologize.  I haven't had a class in almost 2 1/2 hours and I still hear the screaming of 10th graders in my head.

Maybe I'm not understanding the question right, but the difference here, as far as I can see, is that in earlier seasons, the debut playing simply wouldn't have been the first taped playing; I think I read recently that this happened with Swap Meet.  Stack the Deck, on the other hand, is simply not scheduled to debut until...I guess it's the fourth week of the season.

Only correction is that it isn't really retired...although to my knowledge, there's been absolutely nothing done toward getting it back in the rotation.
