With the fall season almost all upons (depending upon which network you watch, it already is), let's handicap some of the new and old shows alike.  Remember, it's over or under.  Anyone who makes like Mike Wilbon and chooses "push" will be subject to public ridicule, just like if someone posted a netgame answer on ATGS instead of e-mailing it.

1) Over or under 1 $100K Bonus Round winner on Wheel this season?

2) Will this year's longest-running Jeopardy! champion win over or under 15 games?

3) Over or under $1M won by next Friday's DoND contestant?  (That's the night the top prize reaches $6M.)

4) For all the controversy surrounding Survivor: Cook Islands, will this cycle average over or under 16 million viewers?  (Last night's premiere averaged about 17 million in the fast nationals.)

5) Over or under 3 $250,000 questions asked by Meredith this season on Millionaire?

6) Over or under 2.5 DSWs on TPiR next season?
6a) Over or under 1 perfect show?
6b) Over or under 2 winless shows?
6c) Over or under 39.5 bids that feature some combination of 69, 420, or 1337? :-)

7) Over or under 2nd place for ex-game show host Mario Lopez on Dancing with the Stars?  (Note: if he's your pick to win, take the under; if not, take the over.)

8) Over or under 1 new episode of Chain Reaction and/or Starface ordered by GSN in the next 12 months?

9) Over or under 5 new game shows pitched at NATPE this winter?

10) Over or under October 4 (the night the new season of Lost starts) for the season's first cancellation?

11) Will The CW average over or under 4 million viewers in its debut week next week?

Last one...and you're all going to love this:

12) Over or under Monday (9/18) at 12pm ET for Chris Lemon's 10,000th post? :-D

8. Over for Starface. The way GSN hypes this thing like it's the greatest game show EVAR makes me think that they'd renew it regardless of how it does.

9. Under. I think at least two of the three that we've heard about (Joker, Combination, Deal) will get pitched.

10. Under. It never fails. And if something doesn't get cancelled before then, it'll get a hiatus, to be burned off in the spring or summer '07.

1) Over or under 1 $100K Bonus Round winner on Wheel this season?

Over by one. Don't think you'll see less than 2.

Quote
2) Will this year's longest-running Jeopardy! champion win over or under 15 games?

Under. Long winning streaks are not easy to put together on J!, no matter how high they are.

Quote
3) Over or under $1M won by next Friday's DoND contestant?  (That's the night the top prize reaches $6M.)

Under. Contestants' luck never seems to pan out on DoND, whether it be because they make a bad decision or wuss out.

Quote
4) For all the controversy surrounding Survivor: Cook Islands, will this cycle average over or under 16 million viewers?  (Last night's premiere averaged about 17 million in the fast nationals.)

Under, because I believe people will lose interest in this one quickly.

Quote
5) Over or under 3 $250,000 questions asked by Meredith this season on Millionaire?

Over. Not much over, but I'm sure that you'll see a few get to the quarter mil.

Quote
6) Over or under 2.5 DSWs on TPiR next season?

2 and a half? Have you been hanging around Dan LeBatard too long?

Under.

Quote
6a) Over or under 1 perfect show?

Over. Not by much, but over.

Quote
6b) Over or under 2 winless shows?

Long season, but I'll say under because I don't think you'd see it twice. I'll probably be wrong, but I don't care.

Quote
6c) Over or under 39.5 bids that feature some combination of 69, 420, or 1337? :-)

Under.

Quote
7) Over or under 2nd place for ex-game show host Mario Lopez on Dancing with the Stars?  (Note: if he's your pick to win, take the under; if not, take the over.)

I take the under. I think he'll finish fourth.

Quote
8) Over or under 1 new episode of Chain Reaction and/or Starface ordered by GSN in the next 12 months?

Over on both! Come on. As much as we may despise CR and Starface, GSN's not gonna just let them go for one season.

Quote
9) Over or under 5 new game shows pitched at NATPE this winter?

I'm gonna say under. But then, I don't know.

Quote
10) Over or under October 4 (the night the new season of Lost starts) for the season's first cancellation?

Over. Maybe after that.

Quote
11) Will The CW average over or under 4 million viewers in its debut week next week?

That's an over. The question should be will The CW average 4 million viewers throughout the whole season.

That's another under. He'll reach it by 12pm ET Sunday. (I'm not serious, but if I'm right, well...)

Ah, what the hell.... =)

1) For Wheel, I'm going OVER 1 $100k bonus round winner. In fact, I'm going to say that two people get the big money on that Wheel. There have already been 3/4 winners thusfar in the season.

2) I'm taking the UNDER on any Jeopardy champion even lasting 15 games this season. The pool just isn't there with a dominator, and from what I've seen so far in the season (including episodes yet to be aired) it looks like there won't even be any 10-day champions.

3) Damn, I wish I was at that taping so I could know for sure how the last player did on DonD. =P
I'm going UNDER only because the last time there was a prize that ginormous on the show, it got ousted pretty quickly.

4) Tough call there on Survivor. With Grey's Anatomy season debut being next week, that could take away some of Survivor's viewers, so I will go slightly UNDER.

5) OVER 3 $250k questions will be asked on Millionaire.... and I bet one time this season, one of them will be a regular question, and another will be used on a "Switch the Question" lifeline. That happened once last season, didn't it?

6) OVER
6a) OVER
6b) UNDER
6c) UNDER!!!!

7) I'm hoping to actually go to one of those tapings, so I can't gauge the dancers in just one week! But so far, Mario has proven that he can dance to those Latin songs very well... but I'm wondering how he will do on the Waltz dances and stuff like that. For now, though.... I will take the UNDER because he's my current front-runner to win it all.
----> and if he's smart, he'll choose to do some of the Latin dances for later in the run...save the best for last!

8) Next 12 months? OVER for StarFace. It's cute... it's fun. =)

9) UNDER 5 new shows.

10) OVER. Something is bound to get canned by then!

11) Eh, OVER, why not?

12) HA! Has it been that many already? I'm barely in the 200s myself! =P
Chris, get out more! =P
(just kidding there, Chris)
Let's see... eh, I'll say PUSH because knowing Lemon, he might see this and think...
"You know, I could be a real bitch and prove "so-and-so" wrong and go over or under... or I could just be funny and make my 10,000th post just seconds before noon hits the East Coast."
He's certainly made me laugh before... I say he goes that route and makes it to 10,000 at that point. =D

1. Over, but under last season's total. With DoND around, these kind of wins have lost their luster a bit.

2. Over, I hope.

3. Under, in order to ensure people will still watch the regular $1M editions of the shows. A gigantic win will kill it.

4. Way under. May set a series low.

5. Over.

6. Way over.
A: Over by 1.
B: Over by 1.
C: Way under.

7. Way under. Not even close. He's too dopey to win.

8. Over for CR, a bit under for StarFace.

9. A tad under.

10. Way over.

11. Over.

12. WAY under.

There's definitely going to be more than 2.5 DSW's this season.  The last two seasons have combined for at least 10, if I remember correctly.  (Steve?)  The more interesting question is whether we exceed last year's total of ONE $11,000 Bonus Win

If Survivor hit 17 million for the premiere, then there's probably going to be 12-14 for an average.  Once the water cooler catalyst dies down, people will resume life as normal

I may have to push 6a and 6b, provided we do the Joe Capitano definition of each.

For the 250K questions, I think we'll do over.  Jason is right in remembering that there was a 3-quarter episode last season (we were both in the following WLTI episode, I think)

Considering there were two 100K winners in the same Wheel week, I'm inclined to go over, since the year before was sparse.  This is going to be the very average 2-3 jackpot season.
This signature is currently under construction.

In the interest of wagering, you all have my solemn oath that I will not attempt to influence this result in any way, because now I'm interested in seeing how close Jason was to it being a 50/50 prop, like any good over/under should be. :)

Over I think.....I don't think you'll have none.

2) Will this year's longest-running Jeopardy! champion win over or under 15 games?

Under, but not by too much.....12 probably

3) Over or under $1M won by next Friday's DoND contestant?  (That's the night the top prize reaches $6M.)

I'll go way under....I'll say under $300K actually

4) For all the controversy surrounding Survivor: Cook Islands, will this cycle average over or under 16 million viewers?  (Last night's premiere averaged about 17 million in the fast nationals.)

I'll go under, barely....16 million

5) Over or under 3 $250,000 questions asked by Meredith this season on Millionaire?

Asked? Over. The contestant actually plays the question? Under.

6) Over or under 2.5 DSWs on TPiR next season?

Over. I'll say 4

6a) Over or under 1 perfect show?

Over...2

6b) Over or under 2 winless shows?

Over....5

6c) Over or under 39.5 bids that feature some combination of 69, 420, or 1337? :-)

Under.....10

7) Over or under 2nd place for ex-game show host Mario Lopez on Dancing with the Stars?
(Note: if he's your pick to win, take the under; if not, take the over.)
Over...I could see a backlash midseason...

8) Over or under 1 new episode of Chain Reaction and/or Starface ordered by GSN in the next 12 months?
Under if That's the Question is any good...

9) Over or under 5 new game shows pitched at NATPE this winter?
Including the 3 we know of? Over.

10) Over or under October 4 (the night the new season of Lost starts) for the season's first cancellation?
Over, but just barely...one of the Fox shows that's yanked for baseball won't come back after....

11) Will The CW average over or under 4 million viewers in its debut week next week?
The first full week? (Wednesday-Tuesday).....I'll say over....

Last one...and you're all going to love this:

12) Over or under Monday (9/18) at 12pm ET for Chris Lemon's 10,000th post? :-D

Under.....

Ya know, it just occurred to me that if you didn't want people picking "push", you should have set your over/unders at half-units, like real Vegas lines.

So perhaps you, sir, are the winner of the Public Ridicule Sweepstakes. ;)

My answers-----

1) Over. I can see 3 or 4 this season.

2) Tough, but I'll say under. Probably 10 at most.

3) Under. Some odd reason, I can't see the million happening with DOND any time soon.

4) Under. I'm surprised people aren't getting tired of it yet. Or are we just getting tired of it?

5) Over

6) Heh? How is 2.5 possible? Over. It'll be at least 3.

6a) Over. Probably 2 or 3.

6b) I might actually say under here.

6c) Under

7) Over

8) Under. I can see them being new runaway hits for GSN.

9) Under.

10) Under

11) See quote at top. Over.

12) Under. It'll be before the night's over....:P
