1 vs 100 question
« on: November 10, 2006, 08:29:00 PM »
Say somebody knocks out 99 of 100, reaches the final question, and they both get it right. Do they keep doing questions until somebody loses; is there some sort of tiebreaker, or what happens?
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

Technically, until everyone is out, there is no "final question". I would assume  that until the member of the mob gets it wrong or the one quits, they would keep going.

Well, what if both players miss the question?
Bob: "You just lost $627,000. But hey, at least he doesn't get to take it home!"

...or if the player still has both helps?
Bob: "Well...you still have one help left. Would you like to ask Mark for his advice again, just to mix things up?"

I wonder...should the first situation occur, would neither player win, or would they go spelling bee style until there was a definite winner? After all, Bob does say "Either you win, or they win!"

Fun Fact To Make You Feel Old: Syndicated Jeopeardy has allowed champs to play until they lose longer than they've retired them after five days.

Oh that's easy.  They'll shut down the taping and panic for nine hours.

Actually, if both the remaining mob player & the one missed the same question, I think that question should be thrown out & a new question is shown(of course, that original question will be edited out if that occured).  As Bob says, "Either YOU win or THEY win!".  I don't think that sort of scenerio would look good on TV because there always has to be at leest one right(the mob &/or the one) or just one wrong(either the one or that lone mob player).  Either way, it could ruim the budget for that game anyway.

I've got another question:

On this past Friday's episode there were a couple of questions where nobody got it wrong.  I'm wondering:  suppose "the one" used his second help on that question (the one where they randomly select one right and one wrong answer) - what would they do?

Would they tell the contestant that "everyone answered the same way but we can't tell you if it's right or wrong", and let him pick someone out to ask why they chose it anyway?

Anyone know?

Really, do you really think a show with this many huge format and productional holes actually planned for something like this?

Considering the odds of this stuff actually happening...doubtful.

But wouldn't those sort of things be the things that a Mark Goodson would've noticed and wanted fixed before the first pitch meeting to a network?

Yes.

This show was not produced by a Mark Goodson. Or anything close to a Mark Goodson.
