I'm a bit disgusted by the fact that this is basically Extreme What's My Line and it's for $500,000.  That's a bit much, but it's to be expected I suppose.  At least it's not a DoND ripoff.  And at least Craigslist was right about this one, network wise.  Rule wise, it still stands (as of now) that the player has to identify 12 people's identities, or basically jobs/hobbies, for $500,000.

Wow.

I'm starting to think CBS will be the real winner of all this game show crazyness since they haven't put a new GS on yet...

Well, you have to give NBC credit for greenlighting a show that takes some sort of brainpower.  I'm going to be interested in how the game actually works.  I'm thinking that it's essentially going to be a matching game with a list of 12 occupations and the player having to put faces to lines after some sort of questioning.  $500,000 seems like a lot using this method.  (Perhaps $5K each for the first 4, 20K for the next 4, 50K for the next 2, and everything else for the final two)  I doubt what I've thought of is actually going to happen, but I feel there's some logic behind it.

They don't have to.  They have Emmys and CSI.  NBC is also looking to save money by putting reality/gaming in the family hour.

A primetime game show that's 1) not a foreign import, and 2) not from Endemol. I like the idea already. ;-)

"Intrigued" by the host? That's a charitable way of expressing my thoughts. Penn Jillette is good at what he does, but those same qualities, to my mind, make him a poor choice for this gig.

I'm too busy saying "man who was making fun of the dumbness of NBC's latest game shows not six months ago", myself. I kinda like Penn, but why the hell is he hosting this?

Sounds like the show will be similar to the French-Canadian game show "La Tete De'Lemploi", except there will be 12 people to figure out instead of 6, and of course a chance to win about $495,000 more than the Quebec counterpart.

It would be a hoot if a player misses an obvious match, then Penn can bring out of mothballs...

... wait for it....

Maybe if this flops, Penn could do a remake of TTTT using the title of his Showtime series.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Was Who's Who? the throwaway game from WML? where they had to identify the butcher, baker and candlestick maker?
