You gotta like a show that has a pic of Bill Cullen on the set, though.

And "Remote Control" was good-natured fun that wore its cheerful tackiness with honor.  Compared to what would come down the pike from MTV later, it was a nice diversion--and there were still plenty of "real" game shows out there back then.  And the fact that I can still remember:

"But Casey, who's your favorite 'Hollywood Squares' panelist?"

"Well, Ken, I'd have to say the Swedish supergroup ABBA--'Knowing Me, Knowing You.'  Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for your thumbs."

Of course, there was no version of Concentration on the air at that time.
Classic Concentration premired in 1987.
Veering.  Why was it called "Classic Concentration," when it shared very little with the Downs/Clayton version?
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I think the only people who would seriously say that it shared very little with the original version are purists like us who could immediately rattle off the dozens of little things the new version changed.  To ANY casual observer, it was the exact same show.

This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

You guys have forgotten your pop culture, and your soda pop culture.

In looking for a new way to call an old show new (Plus, 79, All Star, All New), Goodson looked to one of the bigger advertising stories of the last few years...the "New Coke" fiasco that led to "Classic" Coke returning. Voila! Good idea for a "New" title.

(No, I'm not speaking ex-rectum, however, I can't find the correct source where I read that... IIRC, it was mentioned in a Miami Herald article mentioning the return of Concentration to the airwaves. Or USA Today. One of them. I was 14 at the time.)

I figured it had something to do with the different direction the Orson Bean pilot took, which took a simple game and made it unnecessarily complicated......
