Temptation Host Named...
« on: January 29, 2007, 12:54:14 PM »
BuzzerBlog has reported that Rossi Morreale will host "Temptation(s)".  The link is to his personal site...there is no Wiki.

I've never heard of the guy...this could be interesting.
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

In the same way that Dennis Wolfberg found a rigid colonscopy to be interesting, sure.

I'm really hoping that when hiring for a new game show host, looks is not priority 1 or 2.  Do we now have to watch EXTRA or TBS Weekend to see this guy's ability?

Well if I cannot be the host, I can at least try to become a question writer.  Does anyone know the address for the LA offices of FreMantle.

Can we wait until the show airs and then bash the host?  What if he turns out to be halfway decent?  Judging a book by its cover and all...

I will readily admit that my first reaction upon reading the host's name was to ask why Steve Rossi was being dragged out of retirement, and that my second was to ask if that was the new dessert I tried last week.  But both reactions can be readily attributed to a severe migraine, and neither says a thing about Rossi Morreales himself or how good or bad he is.

Mike's right -- let's give the host, and the show, a chance.

You do have a chance...he is a part of TBS's "weekend extra" movie set.  This weekend's movie is "Father of the Bride", with a start time of 3:50pm Saturday.  I've never seen the "weekend extra" setup, but if you want to see him, I'd turn in at 3:30p, because I find it really odd that a show would start at 3:50.

Oh, I'll give him a chance, all I've said is that my hopes for the show the way it's meant to be done are significantly lower. I'd be pleased to be proven wrong.

Then you don't know TBS that well, do you?

TBS has, from almost the very beginning, started its programs at odd times.  This is nothing unusual.  In the 80s their shows always started at :05 and :35 past the hour.

It's kinda odd that they still do this, considering how irrelevant print TV listing are getting these days....

Didn't they stop this practice in the late 90's, only allowing for movies or baseball games [on the Superstation at least] to run extra, and the next movie to run afterwards [if not concurrently while the credits are running]?

No clue. I turn on TBS maybe twice a year, and usually when they have a basketball game I'm interested in. Which is _also_ very rare anymore. (Do they even still _have_ basketball?)

I haven't seen a basketball game on there in a long time...however, they have started showing college football games.  All of the NBA games Turner shows have been relegated to TNT (Thursdays).  It's been that way for at least two, maybe three, years now.

ObGS:  TBS showed Starcade in 1982...:)

Come on Chris...Jordana Spiro has to be another reason to tune to TBS. She's the only reason I tune in. :)

Here's hoping that Temptation succeeds...just like season 36 of TPIR, I will keep an open mind on the host.
