The cover features a smiling Vanna White turning a dollar sign on the old manual WoF gameboard. The $100,000 Pyramid, Wordplay, J!, The New Hollywood Squares, The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime, LMAD rate pictures of players and hosts but TPiR only gets by with one picture of an audience member. Merv and Vanna rate being quoted. There are sidebars about how to be a contestant and an anecdotal history of the genre.

Not too bad for a fluff piece.

Yup, I remember that cover...it should be noted that Newsweek had $64,000 Question on the cover in 1955.

This being Super Bowl weekend, TV Guide had game show hosts on the cover 23 Super Bowls ago (Jan. 21-27, 1984).
