The newly-rechristened ION Television (formerly i, formerly PAX) has a poll on its website. Rate the 16 shows listed on a scale from 0 to 10. The original Lingo is one of the shows, so I guess it must have access to it. I'm not sure how much this actually will influence scheduling decisions (probably not a whole lot).

There's something about the idea of rerunning a show that never paid all of their contestants their winnings that just doesn't sit well with me.

There's also the idea of giving a network a name (ION) that sounds like another former network (Eye On America) that strikes me as odd as well.  As long as they don't start rerunning "Real People", I think we'll be OK.

Also nice to see that there are some shows that Nick@Nite/TV Land ignored that may see the light of day again.

Believe me, I understand, but this was also one of my favorites, and I'd love to see the original episodes again.  I'm also a huge Barney Miller fan, so those were my two "10"s.

According to the guy who does the news on Sitcoms Online, these are the shows ION has a big interest in airing. Vote and you'll see most of them on this year, he says.

Good to know someone else that is a big fan. :) I just wish more seasons would come out on DVD already...

Keep dreaming, PYLW. They're not going to be coming out any time soon, if ever, due to flagging sales of the first season. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Interesting mix of shows I saw. I voted for Barney Miller too, because I really haven't seen much of that (I do remember when it used to air late Saturday nights on WWOR...caught it sometimes, didn't know what the hell was going on). Among my other choices were the original Lingo (curious as to how they ended up putting it on the list), The A-Team (because, IMHO, more A-Team is good), and Perfect Strangers.

Would rather not see Moral Court (thought that was the most idiotic show going when I saw it), but if a one-season wonder court show can still be airing in reruns after all this time...anything's possible, I suppose.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

No, I knew that already. It's kind of like the situation with Night Court. A man can dream, can't he? :)

Was it Ralph Andrews that was behind the original season of Lingo, or was it some kind of joint entity?  Maybe it opens up the possibility of showing Truth or Consequences, perhaps?

OTOH, I can see I just wanting Lingo due to its success on GSN.

You've got the Ralphs confused. Ralph Edwards was Mr. ToC; Ralph Andrews was the guy behind "Lingo," "Celebrity Sweepstakes," "Liar's Club," etc.

I agree, and how pathetic must your broadcast network be when you're basing programming decisions on GSN's coattails?

Would anyone else other than GSN be able to negotiate for the Reg Grundy library, or does GSN own those shows but just doesn't show them? That might be a neat "get" for ION.

"Moral Court" reran for years and years in Chicago on WCIU, in an amazing run that overlapped Larry Elder's second, ill-fated attempted at a daily syndicated series.

I'm still amazed that Paxson's hanging on to being in business despite all his company has been through.

I thought Paxson had nothing to do with ION anymore (unless you're talking about some other venture).

I'd seriously love to see the classic Lingo series hit the airwaves.

Considering the number of episodes that were produced, if ION schedules the show in a way to where it's not overkill, I think it would get over.
