Question About Jim Perry
« on: November 03, 2006, 12:18:09 AM »
Hello folks,

Would anybody know the name of Jim Perry's second self awareness book, which was published around 2000 or later?

I know the first one was called "The Sleeper Awakes-A Journey To Self Awareness".

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Gosh, I don't know, but it's a tribute to his skills that he did $ale all those years while asleep. :)

Seriously, there are a dozen or so books on Amazon authored by "Jim Perry."  One of them is the Dick Enberg bio.  I don't think it's the same Jim Perry, tho.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

The description on this book says that his life took a powerful and traumatic turn. Besides his marital issues, what did he face?

I remember him saying on some CNBC show that also he tried to take his life not long after his seperation, that may have been it......

The book came out in 1991. By then $ale had been off the air for about two years, and the future career prospects for a game show emcee were none too bright. One wonders whether those things were weighing on him.

Plus, Definition had recently gone off the air, taking him from two shows to none in a short span.
Glad he was able to bounce back, though. Far too many people don't.
P.S.: The CNBC show Jim guested on was Real Personal with Bob Berchowitz.

It seemed to have taken a tragic toll on Jay Stewart, though I'm inclined to doubt Jay's passing was the defining moment in Jim Perry's life.
