Per a press release this morning, Mark Burnett's Survivor on the high seas, "Pirate Master" will premiere on Thursday, May 31st from 8-9PM ET on CBS.

Aussie actor Cameron Daddo (!?!?) will be the host of this show.

IMO, this show will bomb, because it looks like to be a BIG ripoff of "Survivor", which is declining in the ratings on its own accounts.

How is it ripping off "Survivor", when Mark Burnett produces both shows? If anything, it's just a similar format. By your logic, Bob Stewart ripped off "Chain Reaction" when he did "Go".

OK, question, then. Since Bobby is now on "moderated status", does that lock up his user control panel too? Or, can he make changes freely with a moderators approval?

Anyway, what I was actually replying to is the fact that Survivor already did this very idea with the Pearl Islands series. Of all of the series Survivor has done to date, that was the one I enjoyed the most. I wonder why Burnett has to bother to create a whole new series when he had all of the bits and pieces at hand four years ago.

Well, there are enough game differences between Survivor and this series (Here's the press release) to justify it....And I think it will do pretty well; it's a summer series, it's in a good timeslot, and you've got the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie coming out the week before the debut as well (which makes me wonder why Burnett didn't pitch this to ABC first).

Ninjas > Pirates. Just wanted to put that out there.

Anyway, I really don't have this on my radar, as I have a feeling there will be a lot of the Same Old Song, but with a different meaning since it's a Pirate Ship.
