  • Jack Narz said on Shokus Radio that he played all of the stunts for Beat the Clock (Did Collyer and/or Wood do the same?).
  • Howie Mandel played a game of DoND when they pitched it to him.

And a few that are questionable:

Yeah, my thought exactly.  I think we should at the very least limit our discussions to people who played the games on television.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

Would Mark Goodson  on TTTT count?
[/quote]
Would Swann also count (he was a panelist, then moved up to host)?

2700 posts.  Four good.

What about the McLean Stevenson/Gene Rayburn swap?

Can't have Pat playing Wheel of Fortune without Vanna.

Stretching the question, but hopefully not snapping it, John Daly on WML.

I don't think that stretches the question and if anything, is (IMHO, of course) the greatest such stunt of all time.

On an episode I think featured on Page O Clips, from 1991 IIRC, Vanna played a round for charity at an episode's end, and Pat turned the letters.

Vicki Lawrence was a celebrity on Bert's Win Lose or Draw, I remember, though I don't know if that was while she was still hosting the network version, or if it was after...

Methinks somebody is trying to pull an April Fools joke a little too late. Search Page o Clips for Jeopardy, and you'll see that Sajak was just hosting for three civilians that day.

And, as verified by YouTube, one show where Gene handed the big mike to Chuck Nelson Reilly and let him host for a couple of questions while Gene sat in his chair.

Of course, there were a lot of panelists who moved over to the host chair for a show or two - Bennett Cerf and Ralph Bellamy come to my old mind.

(waiting for someone to see if Ed McMahon ever appeared on "Password" and claim he played his own game because the later months of "Snap Judgment" were really Password in disguise)
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

Talking about Charles Nelson Reilly reminded me....for a few episodes of his own "Sweethearts" (boy, was THAT a bad show)... he played while other celebs hosted....Sally Struthers comes to mind....I think a few others did too but can't for the life of me remember.....

So add Chuck to the list.

Hugh Downs played Bob Clayton while Norm Blumenthal hosted on an anniversary edition of Concentration. A second game was played as a joke on Downs. The board was loaded with "Forfeit One Gift" frames and the puzzle was blank.

Vernon Kay played the Game Show Marathon version of Family Feud and then went on to host the revival.

Both Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman have played as contestants on Countdown.
