We've gone over this before: I fail to see the big deal. As far as the home audience is concerned, the host is the public face of the production. No reasonable person is going to hear "I'll give you..." and think the host is actually going to reach into his wallet and hand over a check.

Sorry, gang. Getting irritated over this one just makes ZERO sense to me.

Alas, you're right. But if I wasn't ranting about hosting mannerisms on cancelled game shows, I'd be writing bilious e-mails to the White House about how screwed up their policies are. Sad to say, the impact is about the same in either case.

Believe me, sir, I understand. :) My point was more that *that* particular mannerism just shouldn't be that annoying...Donny had far more irritating things than he did. Or pick on Richard Karn. Heck, there's all kinds of low-hanging fruit here. :)
