If the audience game and the Bingo 500 were two separate occurences, then I don't think the pacing is all that slow.
It's my understanding that the two games happen concurrently.
And whether or not it's slow is all gonna be in how fast they draw the balls. Now, they need to get enough balls into play such that people at home think they might have a chance to win, so I'm not sure if it's going to be a problem or not. But I don't see how you, not having seen it, can make any kind of an educated assumption about the show's pacing.
If they get too many balls into play, people may turn off out of principle. ^^;
At last informal glance, a segment took anywhere between 7 and 10 minutes. From what was described about the procedure, plus some computations about how long it would take to draw 500 points, it should take about 45 seconds-1 minute per ball, which is a little slower than desired, but like I said, the game doesn't lend itself to being fast.
