Now Bunco is being televised....  (actually, I always thought you could translate Bunco into a regular game show with a few tweaks...)

Since apparently EVERY game ever invented gets a show on TV....when can we expect "Operation"?
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

I think Mike can answer that for you.

Wow, televised bunco.  What's next, Rubik's Cube?  Oh wait....

From the article: "P&G found that twice as many frequent heartburn sufferers regularly play Bunco compared to the general population."

Now if only we can figure out some malady shared by "Password" viewers, we can get that sucker financed.

You did? Bunco is a lousy game on it's own, I'm not sure how tweaking it would suddenly make it good.

Especially when even Yahtzee has more going for it, and that made a horrendous TV game. I bought an electronic version of Bunco on a whim and was instantly struck by how dull it was, both the one player and two player games. But I didn't try it during a paralysing attack of heartburn.

You're going to think I'm being sarcastic, but...Pretty sure this was a mini-game on the Milton-Bradley sponsored "Shenanigans" in the early 60s.

I have. It still sucks. Trust me.

(The heartburn joke is because Prilosec sponsors the version of Bunco found on most gaming sites, including ours.)

The thing about Bunco is that it isn't a game, it's an excuse for a dozen women (usually women, anyhow, though I've never seen a male Bunco circle) to chatter and gossip for a few hours once a month. Why they need to roll dice mindlessly to accomplish this, I don't know, as I manage the same thing every Friday while actually playing decent games, but there it is.

It was, along with Where's Willie?, which actually worked better on "Shenanigans" than as a real game in itself that could be played at home. (Except when the door holding Willie accidentally opened on one episode of the show and the player saw him in advance.)

I don't know how they will turn bunco into a game show, but it'll be awesome.   And as for the rock paper scissors joke, I think that could possibly be one of the rated game shows of all time.  The classics always do well.  Where can i find more about this bunco development?

It's not a joke.  One of the cable nets will be televising a one-time-only game show covering an annual RPS tournament
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

From a brief look at what the heck Bunco is, it looks about as exciting as Three Card Poker.  Magic: The Gathering looked more interesting as a televised event.

With all this fervor about getting 18-34, why not Apples to Apples?
This signature is currently under construction.
