As an aside, I wonder which readily available mass-produced game show board game is based on the TV show with the fewest number of aired episodes. (Top Secret does not count.) I think Identity had more than MDP. But maybe there is another one.
According to TV.com, Identity and MDP each had twelve aired episodes.

Wonder if the new LMAD home game comes with host scripts and a timer so you can pad game play to an agonizing hour, including time outs for commercials?

Here is a link to a report on a new Nintendo Wii "Family Feud Decades" game:

http://worthplaying.com/article/2010/8/10/news/76111/

In the last couple of seasons, I'd seen some interesting results to current survey questions, which were asked years earlier on the Richard Dawson series.

The first question, on the first Dawson hosted show, asked to "Name a famous 'George.'"  George Washington was number one both then and now!  Washington was the only answer from back then, to make the survey this time.

A couple of months ago, a slightly reworded question--"Name a guy with 'Martin,' in their name," brought only "Dean Martin," and "Martin Luther King," to current day survey.  The original question from the seventies asked to "Name anyone with 'Martin,' in their name," and that led to "Mary Martin," turning up in the original survey!  That question was featured in the first MB home game BTW.

For the record, "Dean Martin," was Number one in the seventies survey, and Number 3 this time, and "MLK," was Number 3 in the seventies, and Number 5 this year!

IGN has more info, including verifying that this is a Ludia effort. The release date is November 9, 2010.
I think this is a pretty unique idea. This is the announcement of the sixth video game based on a game show coming out during this fall.

And how many of them are being pumped out by the same small outfit who has consistently proven a lack of production values?

Half and half, then, and one of the non-Ludia half is a braindead straight quiz with a lot of chrome on it.

Do we know if THQ is doing the dev on Wheel and Jeopardy in-house?

I've seen nothing to indicate that they're not.

Some research seems to hint that they will be, but they're certainly not being very forthcoming about it, at any rate.

Fair point, but Jeopardy! at least has the buzzer battle and wager questions. Fifth Grader doesn't even have that.

Don't forget, WoF and J! are getting Wii Speak support. That's a step above anything that Ludia has done.

And I'm going to reserve judgement on that until I see that it actually works, and works well, with my own two eyes. At this point in the game I think that voice recognition, especially voice recognition that seriously takes away from the experience if it's even 10% ineffective, is a really bad idea. For a game-show game, it needs to work All. The. Time. And the tech just isn't there yet.

Yea, we'll see. It's based off Nintendo's Speech-to-Text, so they don't have to reinvent the wheel for the technology. It worked quite well in Animal Crossing for controlling and talking to characters.

I'm not too concerned with Wheel, since you're just basically calling letters. J! will be the big concern.

Yeah, but 100%? I bet not. Did it EVER misinterpret something you said?

Except if one in 10 times, I call for a "C" and it gives me a "G" or a "P" and I lose my turn? Or "M"s for "N"s? If I have ANY doubt whether I'm gonna get the letter I call, that's unsatisfying enough that I'm not going to use it.

My point is not whether it will work. I'm sure it's pretty good tech. My point is that for this application, "pretty good" isn't good enough.
