More new GS games coming soon

Though the game is not quite available, here is a link to get a peek at the rules for the new LMAD game from Pressman:

http://catalog.pressmantoy.com/index.php/rules?start=125

I tried to link to it directly, but seemed to have some difficulty, so you'll have to scroll down a bit, and click the link there.

It looks like the game is going play like the Ideal toy version from 1974, just no curtain!  The rules indicate there are TWO box cards, one has a "$" the other other has a "?"

From the illustration on the instruction sheet, it looks like the three doors are designed faithfully to the ones on the show.

Will inform of any store sighting in the future.

So I picked up the PS3 version of Press Your Luck, and played a couple of online games. Here's a few notes:

Correct Theme Music - Instead of the pilot, it's a new version of the correct music. They must have gotten the rights to it (or looked past a pilot episode).

Prizes Added - It's not just trips anymore. Various prizes at various amounts are now sprinkled on the board.

Shorted Slides - While the slides are still not show-authentic, they've cut the show time down, and have rotated in more board patterns, including some that seem like slide changes. Much harder now to guess the next pattern, or only stop on the one with no Whammies.

More Host Dialog - Instead of repeating the same 6 phrases ad nasuem, he now repeats the same 12 phrases - ad nasuem.

So overall, this is the best version of PYL that Ludia has made. It's too bad these changes wont be patched into the Wii or PC versions, or so I assume.

It's worth $10, if you haven't picked up any of the other versions.

Well, when Ludia's found suckers customers to do their beta testing for them, why bother getting it right the first time?

I hope the upcoming iPad version will have these improvements.

Spot on. It seems that the PS3 releases are the most refined and well done, AND the cheapest. Why buy for any other platform?

Oh, more power to the PS3 users, for sure. There's that whole thing about supporting a company that does shite work, but that's just me.

I'm not sold, especially when the iPhone/iPod Touch game is pretty solid and no more than a fiver. Even Millionaire 2010 still looks good blown up on an iPad. I know this is for the PC, but when more and more people are gaming on devices other than consoles and computers, you need to come up with something that's going to not only convince me that I need to go back to my cpu, but be good enough to make me open my wallet as well.

Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

I just received word that The Cube is now an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad app.  I'll be sure to give it a go... that is, if it's been uploaded yet... and if it's available in the U.S.  But hey, if The Crystal Maze is available worldwide, why shouldn't The Cube?

Meanwhile, Cash Cab: Las Vegas has been released, and although it's a good challenge, I wouldn't recommend spending $3 it until Capcom fixes a bug that makes the game crash near the end of your ride.

Either debug the game, or rename it "CRASH CAB!"
