That's pretty ridiculous. The classic "leatherette card holders" are a staple of Password games. Bad move. Good thing for me (if I buy this) is I have a ton of Password games around here, including some doubles of the EG versions (it seems there is always a PW game at a thrift store so I usually pick it up regardless if I have it or not). I can use those extras for the card holders, assuming the word cards are the same "style" as they used to be...
Which is exactly what I did. My second edition came with four blue leatherettes instead of two, so I simply moved my two extras into the Classic Password box because the, uh, glossyettes bothered me so much. They'll work, even though they DID change the design of the cards. (Words are no longer numbered, or asterisked, and they switched to a different font.) I can deal with change pretty well, I think, but this bewilders me. Endless released five Password home games that were pretty damn faithful to the original version without being touted that way, then they introduce an edition called "CLASSIC Password" and completely change the design of the essentials. The weird thing is that the money they saved on the word holders apparently went to developing a stronger scoring dial. I knocked on it and actually got a pretty good sound out of it. So those of you who wish Password had a thicker scoring dial, pick up a copy today!
