Just got Classic Password today. Endless Game has switched to glossy paper stock for the word holders. That is all.

That's pretty ridiculous. The classic "leatherette card holders" are a staple of Password games. Bad move. Good thing for me (if I buy this) is I have a ton of Password games around here, including some doubles of the EG versions (it seems there is always a PW game at a thrift store so I usually pick it up regardless if I have it or not). I can use those extras for the card holders, assuming the word cards are the same "style" as they used to be...

Ah, me too. For some reason, I can never pass up an old copy of Password.

If there's a Savers thrift store near you, they're the best. The one where I live has a huge shelf of old/new/rare board games priced between $2 and $5, and the stock changes about every 3 days. A board game shopper's dream.

Jeezus. Has there been some sort of price spike in the vinyl market as of late?

Which is exactly what I did. My second edition came with four blue leatherettes instead of two, so I simply moved my two extras into the Classic Password box because the, uh, glossyettes bothered me so much. They'll work, even though they DID change the design of the cards. (Words are no longer numbered, or asterisked, and they switched to a different font.) I can deal with change pretty well, I think, but this bewilders me. Endless released five Password home games that were pretty damn faithful to the original version without being touted that way, then they introduce an edition called "CLASSIC Password" and completely change the design of the essentials. The weird thing is that the money they saved on the word holders apparently went to developing a stronger scoring dial. I knocked on it and actually got a pretty good sound out of it. So those of you who wish Password had a thicker scoring dial, pick up a copy today!

Just a quick update; Jeopardy! Platinum is available in the App Store for the iPhone / iPod Touch for $1.99. The game now sports a full game board, unlike the last version which only had 3 categories. According to the one review posted, it also supports Wifi multiplayer.

Wheel of Fortune recently got an HD version for the iPad, so I imagine that Jeopardy will be getting one in time as well.

Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

For those of you who actually PLAY Password with the scoring dial, I have a bridge you might be interested in. :)

I don't think it's very good, unfortunately. (Apologies in advance for CGI errors - it will load eventually)

As typical with these casual games, it didn't launch on the 7th.
