The Pyramid is HERE on Facebook!!!
http://apps.facebook.com/pyramid/

Here's the info about it...

Sound
The Theme is based on the Bob Cobert Version
The Think Cues uses some of the melody of the Main Theme
Can mute the host
No "Winner's Circle Clock" SFX
Cuckoo for wrong guess

The Gameplay:
3 Categories
You are the receiver all the time
6 Words in 60 seconds
2 Clues per Word
Each Word is $500
Big 6: 6 out of 6 will get you a cash bonus which is random by spinning a Cash Pyramid (Top Prize: $5,000)
Sometimes you will have a collection prize category and if you get all 6 you win the prize
Get a Perfect Score and win $5,000
Extra Clues are worth 100 Clue points which can be earned from playing the game
You MUST best the score in order to go to the Winner's Circle (no ties)

Winner's Circle
3 Categories in 60 seconds
Lower Left: $1,000
Lower Right: $2,500
Top: $5,000
3 Clues per Word
"A List of Things that Fit the Subject"-style is in play
Grand Prize: $25,000 (if you get to the Winner's Circle 3x or more, you automatically win an extra $25,000)

Pass The Pyramid:
Letting a friend play a category from the game you just play
6 out of 6 wins you the Grand Prize
No Win from the Main Game: $10,000
No Win from the Winner's Circle: $25,000
Win from the Winner's Circle: $100,000

That's the info
After a few playings: It's fun and challenging!!!

Aside from spamming me, there is no reason that app needs to send me email, which means that app gets the boot. Damn shame, too, because the game actually is pretty fun and relatively challenging. (And my world would not end if that music were actually used on a TV version of the show.)

Went to Borders here in NYC which is closing ALL their stores. Board games are now 50% off. Picked up the box version of Million Dollar Password for $10. Regis is on the cover and it has stacks of cards for all the rounds, a 30 second timer, a "wipe-off" score card and a marker.

And, if memory serves, a very loud timer!

This version has a sand timer, unless his Borders has different games than my Borders.
This signature is currently under construction.

More TPiR Decades News is out:

Looks like it will be on Xbox as well as Wii. Here's some screenshots of the Xbox version, with Avatar and Kinect support: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/the-price-is-right-decades/screenshots/

JC from Ludia made some last day from the job posts over at Golden-Road, here's some of the details:

  • Full 3D Sets and Games
  • Mii support on Wii (finally the stupid Ludiatars are dead)!
  • 30 Games included, including Retired Games like Penny Ante, Hurdles, and Professor Price (!)
  • Some games have multiplayer support, including Plinko. Players will play at the same time.
  • Sets from 4 decades included (70's brown, 80s/90s, 2000s, and Current) - dedicated announcer for each Decade - Randy announces one decade.

I'm not expecting much.

I'll be mildly curious to see what the Kinect support is.

My Guess:

Lift your hand up and down to spin the wheel.
Move your hand to drop the Plinko chip.
Use your hand as a mouse to select on screen items.

JC says later in that thread that....

Super Ball will be in this version as well, so I'd guess that it would be motion compatible too.

He's leaving Ludia...he posted on his last day, so he's gone now.

30 games are going to be in this version....they've done more games with each release, I believe.

Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

That would be awfully, awfully lame.

As such, you're probably spot on.

They had the opportunity to do neat things with the Wii controller a few years ago, and they only used it as a mouse, a motion for pushover, and Hole in One. Lame.

Looks like Ludia is also making a WWTBAM:2012 game for Xbox:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/who-wants-to-be-a-millionarie-2012-edition/overview/

Looks to be Kinect supporting with voice commands, and the updated ruleset.

Screenshots and Box Shots at the link.

EDIT: A new Family Feud game as well:

This is actually a pretty brilliant idea, considering that all it needs to pick up on are four letters, "Final Answer," "Skip," and some form of "I walk."
