The Winker has also lost his Orbitz commercials, too, as the company's gone to a new agency and a new approach.

Although I was noticing that on AOL Radio, Wink for some reason was not being heard--on the spots, there was another voice saying "it's time to play 'Take On Orbitz!'"  It can't be the union problem, since AOL runs the same Geico, eSurance, JCPenney and NBC spots I hear everywhere else (they just run them a lot less).  Strange.

The program director and ops manager left last week, and now Wink Martindale has resigned. In addition, Gary Owens has cut himself back to weekends only.

I wondered why Carl Hampton, Les Brown Jr. and Johnny Magnus hadn't been on in a while. Great voices that hopefully will be heard again somewhere prominently soon. I'm curious. Is there a "Don format"? Maybe I can get a copyright going.
