I didn't see that particular show, but I dare say she has made more money on Wheel over the years than what she may have lost on the April Fools Day episode.

But the point is, this thread is about contestants doing better on one show over another, and the one time Vanna participated as a contestant, she didn't do too well.  (And to be fair, she did solve one puzzle, so she did indeed do better than when she never got out of Contestant's Row.)

Cool.  Then the original point stands.  Vanna did better on WOF than TPIR.  Though it would be a stretch for me to say that she did "well."  Scratch Vanna from the list.

Thought of two more...

John Goss won the lot on $ale of the Century, but was dominated by an incredibly good player on Let's Go Back. (At one point, you can hear him ask the other trailing opponent "Why are we even here?")

Rabbi Daniel Swartz won a lot of games on Tic Tac Dough '90. Two years later he went on Jeopardy...against Jerome Vered.

An incredibly good player named Ralph Garman, who went on to host The Joe Schmo Show on Spike a few years back, as well as doing voicework for Family Guy.

I just remembered another one. There was a guy by the name of Steve Doshay, who lost on both TJW and Hollywood Connection, but won a Mazda RX-7 and some other goodies on Wheel.

Chuck Donegan mentioned he won during one of the hostess tryout weeks in fall-1982.

He was indeed...Summer Bartholomew was the hostess that wk, in fact.

A few more...

- Michael Lagmay lost on Face the Music in 1980 (following a close tiebreaker), but won the $100K ToC on the Jim Lange version of Name That Tune just 4 years later
- On the flip side, Shari Lowenstein was a 5-time champ on FtM, but lost on the Lange NTT
- Remember Carl, who was cheated out of $50K on Super Password in 1986 w/that infamous "frog" heartbreaker? He was on WoF some 8 years later, and more than made up for it
- Before she was famous, Kathy Najimy and her family won on the syndie Dawson FF in 1981, but she lost going solo on The $25K Pyramid in 1985 (though she did pick up that day's Mystery 7 prize, I believe)
- Kit Salisbury was Tic Tac Dough's 2nd all-time top winner in 1984, but only managed to win 1 game on J! 14 years later
- Jennifer Gillespie won over $30K on TJW in 1979, but took home a mere $200 on Hit Man 3 1/2 years later

I think that was the only show he lost on...Gose also appeared on NYSI (won the $8K bank on his 1st show), Liar's Club, and The $25K Pyramid (retired undefeated w/around $50K).

He also appeared on LGB...and much like Gose, he lost there as well.

Well, you've managed to pique my curiosity.  How was he "cheated" out of winning?

Oh, yes! Thanks for mentioning John. Close to ten years before his $otC appearance, he bet it all and lost during the art gallery round of The Liars' Club.

They were strictly enforcing the rule that no credit would be given if a password had already been passed. It went "passfrog!", and the buzzer sounded right as the ninth word was gotten. So, yeah, not cheated.

I can think of a couple:

-Celeste Wallace won a few games of "Sale of the Ceuntury" in December 1984 (on the last episode I have with her, she won her fourth game), but was pretty much slaughtered on "Monopoly" in August, 1990.
-Amy Isenberg won the Power Prize on the premiere of "Fun House" after accumulating one of the lowest scores a few months before on the final episode "I'm Telling!" with her sister.
-Kathy Doolittle won "Wipeout" (I think she may have won the bonus round as well, but I'm not certain) after failing to win a game of "Press Your Luck" in 1985.
-Kurt Weldon became won eight games (I think) of "The Challengers" in March/April, 1991 after winning only two games of "Jeopardy!" in 1986 (he lost to Randy Amasia, in fact). (Yes, I realize he didn't do poorly on "Jeopardy!," but he was a dominant force on "The Challengers.")

Here are some more:

- Nico Martinez, the 2005 Jeopardy College Champion and winner of $100,000 won only $1,000 on Millionaire a year earlier.
- Recent 5-time Jeopardy champion Steve Unite, as a Captain on Greed, won nothing.
- Francis Grant, Jr. also won $250,000 on Millionaire, but lost his only game on Jeopardy!.
- Caren Chancey won $125,000 on Millionaire, but lost her only game on Jeopardy!.
- Jack Martin won $250,000 on Millionaire, but lost his only game on Jeopardy!.
- Cigus Vanni was a 5-time Jeopardy! champion, but won only $4,000 on Millionaire.
- Tim Hsieh won over $1,000,000 on It's Your Chance of a Lifetime and $64,000 on Millionaire, but lost his only game on Jeopardy!.
- Darrell Garrison was a 7-time undefeated champion on Sale of the Century and won $1,000 on Millionaire, but lost his only game on Jeopardy!.
- Brian Miller won only $1,000 on Millionaire, but won $67,000 on Deal or No Deal

John Carpenter was the first $1,000,000 winner on WWTBAM, yet just last night, was eliminated early as one of the Mob members on 1 vs. 100.

I can't believe nobody mentioned Skyler Stone yet.  He tended to do much better in stunt shows hosted by Brooke Burns than in shows involving little red money-grubbing CGI creatures.

I think most of us are trying to forget he exists. :)
