I'm sure he's nowhere near CBS's minds, but I'm shocked that the name Marc Summers isn't kicked around more often. He has name recognition--the screaming audience members with Greek letters on their chest grew up watching him, after all. He's experienced with the format, he's certainly experienced with doing shows that are different from one day to the next. He seems ideal to me.

And I believe that his having to remember all those obstacles on DD can translate into being able to remember all the games on Price. I, for one, think Fremantle should at least consider him if they haven't already.
And he won't have to get messy!

Hi there,

Just thinking on the perfect choice to replace Bob Barker. Check out the current candidates for President on the Republican ticket. There's one gentleman who could step in for Barker on a days notice....IF and that man is Mitt Romney the foremr Governor of Mass. He's got the looks and the smarts. He just might be looking for work when the campaign is over.
Best,
Ron Greenberg

Of course, if that ever happened, Mitt Romney would be changing the rules of the pricing games every other day.

Have they looked at Donny Osmond, from the Donny & Marie show, for TPIR?
He's also presently employed.
For how many episodes? Challenge raised a big hoopla over reviving Bullseye but only did 30 segments. A similar deal would leave Donny no problem flying back and fro, methinks.

I've always felt Donny would be an inspired choice, but he was never publically mentioned as a possibility.

Here's a name out of nowhere: what about Wil Wheaton, TV's Wesley Crusher? He does the panel on J. Keith's "What's My Line?" Young, handsome guy. I don't know if he's done anything else, of course, but apparently the selection process needs a jump start.

Marc already has work with Food Network, which I would think he's satisfied with.  Also, I'm not sure how well he could handle the overly-caffinated contestants.  The kids on Double Dare were never really bouncing off the walls like on Price.  Similar reasons would also eliminate Howie Mandel (has work, unpredictable contestants)

I'd recommend Bob Eubanks if he wasn't older than dirt.

He's only a year or so older that Rich Fields' good friend George Hamilton.
While we're considering former Entertainment Tonight hosts, I wouldn't mind Bob Goen being given a shot.

Only if they reduce the total dollar value in Plinko to $10,000, Grand Game to $1,000, and they start giving away Ford Focuses at the end of the Golden Road.

To borrow a line from Joe Mello....I'd pick Tom Kennedy if he wasn't older than dirt.

And in regard to Wil Wheaton....I want to propose a new rule.  You have to be a least a full year older than the show itself to host it.

/still don't understand who Wil Wheaton is
//honestly, I don't care

When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

So you're suggesting someone who's over 50 to host Price, then.

My proposal: The Price is Right/Who Wants to Be a Moronionaire Hour.  Anyone who bids $69 or $420 and/or wears a "BOB R00LZ" T-shirt in the former goes on to the latter.

Either Connecti-Matt or Michi-Matt hosts the first half, I host the second half, and all beatings are administered by Chris Lemon.

At no point did Richard Dawson get a phone call.  Period.

(Add 5 points if you remembered where/when that post originated.  Subtract 10 points if you made the original post.)

I wouldn't mind seeing Marc Summers host at all.  He's a professional who's shown he can handle any hosting duty handed to him.

Of course, there are other options.

John Davidson is starting to look pretty good right now. He is 65, though.
