Bob Costas has disappointed me of late.  There's a radio station that is carring his daily sports report and instead of news, it's something like "The 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers..., etc."
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

...has Fremantle considered a candidate of color (like say, Spencer Christian or Ahmad Rashad)?
[/quote]

The Spencer Christian idea is a great one!  I think he could handle the show very well, for a long time to come.

He would've been good, but he hasn't had name recognition in years. The other candidates do steady work on a national level.

Yes, I know George Hamilton is doing Ritz commercials, but he has a lot more name recognition than a former weatherman.

The one thing for certain is the new host will have to use a different mic.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist that.  My further apologies to those who don't know what that's in reference to.

How well would Burton Richardson do, moved up from announcer to host?

The contestants would have to wear protective plastic ponchos.

I'd like to see J. Keith Van Stratten get a try out

D, my family had one of those.  I guess it eventually led to a short college career in radio.

Here's another name that should be thrown out there as a viable candidate for at least an audition or two...

Gordon Elliott

On the 2 game shows he 'briefly' hosted (TTTT'90 and CoaL), he seemed to work well with the civilians, he has hosting experience, and I do not see any reason why he would be disliked by the public.

The only strike I see against him is his age (around 55-60??), but that still puts him at least 20 years younger than Barker.

I'd buy this, if I thought the average American could get past his accent. And you know how much faith I have in the average American. :)

Otherwise, though, very capable choice; and good at schmoozing with Joe Average.

I loved Gordon on TTTT, and I usually blanch at the accents. Back then at least he had a spontaneity and prankish side--even just the way he skipped down the stairs--that would be really welcome on TPIR.
