On WMAL, 630 AM Washington, the "Grandy & Andy Morning Show" discussed, to the background music of "come on down" how good a host Rosie O'Donnell would make on TPIR.
PRO ROSIE: Fred Grandy said Rosie likes the show. This would keep her in line and make her want to do a good job. Further, hosting a game would help her develop discipline, because the host has to concentrate on the goings-on and see that the game is played out. Rosie is lacking, in Grandy's opinion, such discipline currently and this has prevented her becoming a true star (in the sense that she can't sustain increases in her popularity without tearing herself down through some undisciplined act done in the public view.
ANTI-ROSIE: Andy Parks said
1.) Rosie's lack of discipline is precisley why she couldn't steer TPIR. The show isn't there to give her on-the-job training.
2.) Just wait for her to make some crack on the show. Imagine her on the Grocery Game just waiting to say something off-base like "$10 worth of Lysol won't clean up the Bush Administration."
LATER: Andy said TPIR was Americana and joked everyone has a civic duty to watch it every so often. Andy chided Fred Grandy for not knowing the part of the show at the end is called "Showcase" and not "Lightning Round" (upon which they played the losing horn sound effect).
