It looks like Rosie O'Donnell won't get to host The Price is Right after all:

'Price' Is Wrong for Rosie

Apparently neither CBS nor Fremantle made the decision; Rosie basically said that she doesn't want to relocate to L.A.

I must speak for everyone in my short commentary when I say.....

HALLELUJAH, PRAISE THE LORD!!!

(I hope it isn't against the board's rules to say that, but I can't contain myself.)

don't. Because based on your short posting history, you shouldn't even speak for yourself.

Honestly, was that really necessary?  He is entitled to an opinion.  I may be a new poster here, but I've been reading this forum for a good while now, and I've noticed that you guys always seem to trash anyone with a sub-par posting history.  That's why it took me so long to join here, because I was expecting to be treated the same way just for saying something that someone else thought to be dumb.  Now, I do somewhat understand why he's being bashed a little for that post; it's because he tried to speak for everyone.  In this case though, it shouldn't really matter because, come on, has ANYONE expressed a good opinion of Rosie O'Donnell hosting TPIR? (if thay have, forgive me, I totally missed it)

I absolutely agree that everyone is titled to an opinion. The point is, however, that he said "I must speak for everyone". The low post count isn't really the problem here; it's that he was speaking for everyone else, and not everyone shares the same opinion as he does.

Actually, yeah, the guy to whom you just replied has said she'd be a fine choice.  (No, I'm not slamming you for missing it -- if you didn't read every thread, you wouldn't necessarily know.)

Yes, as you point out, he's not entitled to everyone else's opinion, but he is entitled to his own.  I think that Connecti-Matt's just a little surprised that for once, the opinion doesn't consist of something amounting to "I am obsessed with Todd Newton/Brooke Burke/both." ;-)

Folks, despite all the hype, it was never going to happen.  Fremantle never wanted her and I think they knew that not agreeing to move the show was the deal breaker.  We should all just move on.

Honestly, was that really necessary?[/quote]Yes.  No one should ever say on a forum with more than one person as a member that they "must speak for everyone".  Never.  That's saying the phrasing YOU used for a particular statement is the required current opinion of the entire population of this forum.  Which is wrong.  I, for one, could said statement, but I know there's probably one member who would say "Rosie would make a GREAT host for TPiR".

Case in point:  You make a point.  Let others make same point.  Don't make a point for the whole group.

Topic at hand:  It's over.  Time to let it die.

When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

Not allowing someone to presume to speak for everyone is something on which I think we all agree. :)

As far as Rosie, I think she was the best choice out there, as she's done lots of live TV.  The demos would have changed a bit to young women, but maybe CBS or Fremantle do not want that.

I hope they find a good host.  My first choice would be Chuck Woolery.  Is Ron Ely retired?

Rolf Benirschke could host at this point in time and I wouldn't think twice. Just please get us a host and let's move on.

Exactly. I'm getting sick of CBS and Fremantle throwing out every relevant name they can think of. The fact that they've had eight months let me know how seriously they really don't take this.

I dunno how they are going to get 50 models on that stage, but I can't wait to see the final reveal.
